Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls at Nambour State College are being inspired by Australian sporting superstars to become the next generation of Indigenous leaders, thanks to a fast-growing Broncos initiative.

More than 20 local Indigenous students met Australian sporting legends at a Beyond the Broncos Girls Academy event on Wednesday.

The program’s ambassadors and sporting legends, Ali Brigginshaw, Scott Prince, Justin Hodges and Beryl Friday, also ran interactive workshops at the school.

Officially launched on the Sunshine Coast late last year, more than 70 students are already enrolled in the program across the Coast.
