A renowned hardware supplier has signed a contract for three commercial blocks of land at the new Trade and Construction precinct at Stockland’s Aura Business Park.
The sale to Sunshine Mitre 10 marks the launch of the new precinct within the thriving area.
This new purpose-designed Trade and Construction Precinct, ideally positioned alongside the Bells Creek Arterial Road which will shortly be directly connected to the Bruce Highway, will house key brands in the construction and trade industry to create a one-stop destination for all tradespeople and residents’ construction supply needs.
Sunshine Mitre 10 General Manager Neil Hutchins said Aura Business Park’s new construction precinct provided a unique opportunity for the business to open the 20th in the Sunshine Mitre 10 network, which is this year celebrating 110 years in operation.
The Aura store development will also follow the opening of Sunshine Mitre 10’s new multimillion dollar, flagship store on a 13,000sqm site at Nambour later this year.
With 50,000 residents set to build their homes at Aura, the new precinct is sure to be in high demand as construction shows no sign of slowing down in the burgeoning regional city, making it the perfect location for Sunshine Mitre 10, one of the largest independently operated and owned hardware suppliers in Queensland, to open a new trade and retail store.
Launched in 2018, Aura Business Park is already home to more than 50 businesses and is surrounded by an active and fast-growing residential community, Aura Business Park is a key driving force behind the significant economic growth on the Sunshine Coast.

Mr Hutchins said the Aura store would be Sunshine Mitre 10’s eighth site on the Sunshine Coast, and part of a steadily expanding network across Queensland, employing more than 400 staff.
“With Aura being a thriving hub of construction with thousands of homes being built over the next 20 years, we know there will be a huge appetite from tradespeople, owner builders and homeowners alike.
“And with Aura to be home to 50,000 residents it fits with our focus on community, supporting community and sporting organisations in the towns in which we operate,” Mr Hutchins said.
Matthew Byrne, Senior Economic Development Manager at Stockland, said the growth of business in the region was aligned with Aura’s ambition to become a city where people can live, work and play.

From prospering home-based businesses to the booming Aura Business Park, it is the place to be for businesses on the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Byrne said.
Ray White Commercial Director Michael Shadforth said the community’s position at the gateway to the Sunshine Coast and adjacent to the Bruce Highway, allowed for easy access to Brisbane’s CBD, international airport and port puts businesses in the community within easy reach of tens of thousands of potential customers daily.
On completion, Aura is planned to include two business parks, 10 sporting grounds, 25 community facilities, 20 educational facilities, and 700 hectares of conservation areas and parkland.
