Julie Pretyman Exhibition

Julie Pretyman began painting expressionistic landscapes in Noosa 20 years ago. Using colour in this way tuned her into the vibration and language of colour which led into what she called ‘A Journey into the Sacred’. As a primary school teacher, she simplified it all for young people, to teach in schools and train teachers. She then went onto create ‘The Kaleidoscope Inside Us’, holistic activities based on nine paintings. The nine paintings and the activities to go with them will be displayed in the Caloundra library.

Sycco at Sol Bar

RADIANCE — The Passion of Marie Curie

The life and romance of one of the most brilliant female scientists in history. Famous for her ground-breaking research in radioactivity, Curie was the only person ever to win two Nobel Prizes in multiple sciences, but not without a struggle. For all the answers that come to her in the lab, Curie’s life is peppered with questions of how to realize the passion she has for both knowledge and love, celebrated but then rejected.

Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra — German and Russian Masterpieces

The Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra is having a day out in the country, performing Russian and German masterpieces. Conducted by Adrian King, the orchestra will play melodic masterpieces from the composers Khachaturian, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Mendelssohn, featuring violin soloist Rhys Williams. Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, Rhys Williams is a talented young violin virtuoso from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music who will play the melodic Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E-minor.
