Yin Yoga Under The Sea

Pack your picnic rug for this fabulous afternoon of free live music and a line-up of four awesome bands – Staple, Joe Man Murphy, Those Folk and Sunshine Blues Band. Staple began when five teenage musos won the St Andrew’s Battle of the Bands competition with their blend of sweet harmonies and infectious energy. Joe Man Murphy is an Irish-born folk/roots artist who captures hearts with his warmth, honesty and stories from a life well lived. The Sunshine Blues Band sprang out of a desire to play some blues that are a little bit different. They offer stripped-down, upbeat, rhythm-inspired music. And Those Folk are a truly authentic, naturally charismatic, and delightfully entertaining band made up of Lawrence Menard and Clare Quinn.

Ruby Fields 

Self-taught powerhouse Ruby Fields has announced her debut album Been Doin’ It For A Bit and now it’s time to take it on the road and do it a bit more. Ms Fields creates indie rock that expresses the pitfalls of being young, with a good dose of humour interwoven into her words. She prides herself on her live shows, which always bring a few laughs, cause a bit of a mosh, see a few schooners sunk and leave a damn good impression.

Neil Young’s Harvest Live – 50th Anniversary Concert

In February 1972, Neil Young released what would become his most successful record. Harvest was his fourth studio album and followed on from the brilliant After the Gold Rush, becoming the biggest selling album of 1972 and giving Neil Young his first number one album and single with “Heart of Gold”. Kram (Spiderbait), Darren Middleton (Powderfinger), Mark Wilson (Jet) and Davey Lane (You Am I) will present Harvest in its entirety before returning to the stage in the second half of the night to present a selection of Neil Young classics from one of rock music’s true masters.

Principles Of Biomechanics

During this physical theatre workshop, you’ll investigate the principles of biomechanics, a system of physical techniques created by Russian actor and director Vsevolod Meyerhold (1874-1940). These intricate movements explore in depth the mechanical and organic aspects of theatrical play, which enable the actor to focus their awareness on each gesture produced on the stage. The workshop is led by D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective’s artistic director Cesar Genaro, who was born and trained in Brazil, having used and disseminated Meyerhold’s techniques throughout his career as an actor and director.

Maleny Wood Expo Art Prize

Visit Maleny Library this February to view a range of unique wood pieces from local artisans. The display is curated to promote the Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize, which is the feature exhibition at the Maleny Wood Expo, brought to you by Barung Landcare and sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council. Bootleg Rascal
