A health cafe chain that started at Coolum more than 20 years ago has continued its expansion, to a busy retail precinct in the middle of the Sunshine Coast.
Raw Energy has opened its ninth store, and its fifth in the region, at The Zone Maroochydore Shopping Centre on Wises Road.
Raw Energy General Manager Ben Sheppard was excited to open the new store.
“We really love the location of this store,” he said.
“It’s on a very popular road (Wises Road) in a very busy shopping complex, with plenty of parking and lots of local businesses, including several gyms as well as a major private school all in close proximity.
“This store will offer alfresco dining as well as various takeaway options, which will be quick and easy for those people looking for a nutritious meal and drink, including all the traditional favourites such as smoothies, juices, wraps, Acai bowls, salads and our amazing coffee will all be available seven days a week.

“We believe the forthcoming closure of Nurcha Café within the shopping complex opens up a real opportunity for Raw Energy to create a destination for those people who enjoy a healthy lifestyle and love fresh, natural and healthy food on a regular basis.
“We’ve created a number of new jobs from this store but we have ambitious plans to grow locally so we are very keen to chat to people who are interested in working in a fast paced, but friendly and rewarding environment,” Ben said.
The cafe is located next to the Wholelife Pharmacy.
Raw Energy has come a long way since Geoff and Lizz Campbell opened the first store at Coolum in 1998.
The brand has expanded, largely off the back of Acai Bowls, award-winning coffee and popular lunch options.
Raw Energy recently opened a new store at Kippa-Ring Shopping Centre, while other locations include the original Coolum store, as well as Peregian Beach, Cotton Tree, Noosaville, Toowoomba, Springfield and Edward Street in Brisbane.
