From dream waterfront homes to a yoga retreat, family favourite and rare beachside land, the Sunshine Coast is set for tens of millions of dollars worth of thrilling auctions this week. See what’s up for grabs.

Some investors already have been pouncing on their slice of Coast heaven, getting down to business as others kicked back over Easter.

Ray White auctioneer Jake Loiero said the sale of the two-bedroom apartment 901/67 Sixth Avenue (pictured below) in Maroochydore on Saturday was a great auction.

“There were about 80 people in the unit,” he said.

Seven registered bidders were chasing this apartment in the Rise complex, which is located adjacent to the Cotton Tree precinct.

“It’s a near-new complex with beautiful views of the ocean and hinterland, a large balcony and northerly aspect,” Mr Loiero said.

It sold under the hammer to an investor for $1.320 million.

Caloundra here we come

CALOUNDRA: Ray White Caloundra is holding its monthly Auction Event this Thursday at 11am at the Sunshine Coast Function Centre. There will be 12 properties on the block.

MOFFAT BEACH: Among the great selection of properties is the four-bedroom home at 66 Roderick Street. It’s located some 300 metres from the local park and beachfront. Marketed as low maintenance, the home is expected to attract a great deal of interest from busy families looking for lifestyle and convenience.

GOLDEN BEACH: Another that should draw in the crowd at the Ray White Auction Event is the two-bedroom home at 3 Brier Court. It sits on a large parcel of land in a cul-de-sac and located in easy traveling distance to the beach, green areas and Caloundra Power Boat Club. It’s a perfect place for the home handyman to set up in one of the sheds and for the kids to run freely in the established garden. The home is also ripe for renovation now or in the future.

Rare land near the beach

MARCOOLA: Listed by Jay Pashley of North Shore Realty, 54 Beachway Parade offers a blank canvas that could be filled by a generous family home and garden with plenty of room for the children to run. The 800 square metre vacant and level block backs onto a nature reserve and is about 70 metres from Marcoola Beach. The auction will be held on site Saturday, April 23, at 5pm.

Boating paradise

MINYAMA: With a pontoon at the front of the north-facing home, the auction of the five-bedroom near-new house at 1A Island Court should be a weekend highlight. Listed by Richard Scrivener and Loren Wimhurst of Next Property Group this home is luxurious, modern, generously sized inside and beautifully located outside with schools and shops close by. The auction will be held on site Saturday at noon.

Family fun

PACIFIC PARADISE: Listed by Amanda Morton of Define Property Group and practically located to give easy access to work and schools both north and south, the five-bedroom home at 575 David Low Way is a gem waiting for a growing family. Nearby is the soothing walk and cycle along the canals at the edge of Twin Waters. The new owner could give the 20-year-old house a tickle here and there or move in right away and start enjoying. The auction will be held on site Saturday at 1pm.

Bushland retreat

REESEVILLE: Another of Ms Morton’s weekend auctions, to be held on site Saturday at 5pm, is 19 Cumner Lane (pictured above). The single-level, four-bedroom timber home is being offered for the first time in 25 years. The new owner could create separate living areas from what was once a yoga retreat or fill the home with a large family. Located in the hinterland and a short distance from Maleny, it’s situated on six acres of bushland and surrounded by the soothing background sounds of the local wildlife.

For the young and young at heart

MAROOCHYDORE: On the shores of Maroochy River and facing north, the two-bedroom Unit 3 at 205 Bradman Avenue will be attractive to both the young and young-at-heart. Imagine taking a kayak across the road for a paddle or breaking out the fishing rod for an afternoon of chasing a river-caught dinner. The property listed by Brodie Rodgers of Ray White is so close to the river’s edge. It will be auctioned on site on Saturday at 1pm.
