The NRL’s newest team is slated to play at Sunshine Coast Stadium during the 2023 season.

The Redcliffe-based Dolphins will collide with last year’s grand finalists, Parramatta, in Round 17 at Kawana on June 24 at 3pm.

It will be one of two NRL games to be contested on the Sunshine Coast.

The Brisbane Broncos will clash with the South Sydney Rabbitohs on July 21 at 8pm.

There will also be two NRL pre-season games, with the Broncos meeting the Titans on February 12 at 7.05pm and the Broncos tackling the Cowboys on February 18 at 7.10pm.

Sunshine Coast Council Economy Portfolio Councillor Jason O’Pray said the region had an enviable reputation as a premier sports training and event destination.

“The pre-season matches are such a great opportunity for the Broncos, Titans and Cowboys fans to head to the Sunshine Coast for a week or long weekend of football-inspired fun,” he said.

Sunshine Coast Council Division 3 Councillor Peter Cox said it was great to see Sunshine Coast Stadium play host to a raft of quality rugby league.

“Hosting the Brisbane Broncos will be a real treat for Sunshine Coast fans in February,” he said.

“And the returning South Sydney Rabbitohs in July are always a crowd pleaser with win after win when playing at their home-away-from-home here on the Sunshine Coast.”

The Broncos will also call the Sunshine Coast home for six days in February.

The visit will start with the pre-season trial against the Titans, followed by a week-long camp including plenty of community activation, in schools and out in the community, finishing off with their final trial against the Cowboys.
