Thousands of people are set to converge for one of the Sunshine Coast’s premier Christmas celebrations.
The Buderim Community Carols is expected to bigger and better than ever, when it’s held on Sunday, December 11.
Last year’s show attracted more than 3000 people and this year’s edition is set to entertain many more.
Here’s a promotional video for this year’s carols:
BWMCA Carols organiser Andrew Butterworth said the event would be action-packed.
“This year’s entertainment is once again directed by local entertainment professional Riley Cope and we are delighted that 7News Sunshine Coast’s Rosanna Natoli is once again joining us as MC,” he said.
“The evening will be full of opportunities to singalong with performances from the Buderim Mountain State School Choir, Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra, Buderim Youth Theatre and the Elite Dance Institute.”

The event will be hosted by the Buderim War Memorial Community Association, with the support of the Bendigo Community Bank Buderim.
It will again be held at the beautiful Buderim Village Park, from 5.30pm for a 6pm start, with entry by gold coin donation.
Attendees are welcome to bring their chairs or rugs and enjoy the Buderim Scout’s sausage sizzle or treats from other community organisations, including fairy floss from the Buderim Foundation, Popcorn from Buderim Mountain State School P&C, baked treats from the Buderim Uniting Church and ice blocks from the Buderim Palmwoods Heritage Railway team.
All of these volunteer organisations will raise funds for their particular charities.
Safeflame candles and other fun products will also be available for purchase.
“We hope the Buderim community will join in on the spirit of peace and goodwill as we head into Christmas, and we would love to invite families from communities throughout the Coast to join us,” Mr Butterworth said.
Bendigo Community Bank Buderim branch manager Peter Macdonnell said the Carols would once again be a great way to welcome in the festive season.
“We are so fortunate to have such a talented line up of performers and the stage facilities make Buderim Village Park a spectacular venue,” Mr Macdonnell said.
“It will be a very special event and one which the Bank again is very proud to support.”
Rosanna Natoli was looking forward to sharing the event with the people of Buderim.
“I simply adore Christmas and carols in particular. It’s not often we can come together as a community to celebrate something as pure, universal and heartfelt as the joy of sharing time with family and friends at this time of year.”
In addition to printed programs, there will be electronic programs available via a QR code so you can get carols lyrics on your phone or mobile device. Grab the QR code from BWMCA Facebook, which will be posted a couple of days prior to the carols or ask one of the volunteers at the event.
Parking around the Buderim Village Park will be available and community organisations will operate carparks with entry by a donation, at Buderim Mountain State School, Buderim Uniting Church and St Mary’s Catholic Church.
To keep up to date with weather conditions in the lead up to the event stay tuned to 104.9 Sunshine FM and BWMCA Facebook. In the event of severe weather, the show will be held at the Buderim War Memorial Hall, next to the park.
