This osprey was snapped by Derek Entwistle on his balcony railing after it visited a unit in a Maroochydore high rise.

It was joined by two other ospreys who stopped off on a neighbour’s railing.

“The osprey came and sat on our balcony in the early morning for a couple of days in a row,” Derek explained.

“The older osprey parked itself on a nearby balcony – maybe they were teaching the ‘baby’ to hunt?

“The visitors in the nearby unit even got a photo of the bird sitting on their balcony with a fish in its talons. Unfortunately, it was a blurry snap on their phone.”
