A highly acclaimed hatted chef is set to bring his talent and love of native Australian produce to a popular restaurant along the Noosa tourist strip.

Having worked at Three Blue Ducks, The Pacific Club and Harvest Newrybar, the new addition to the team is set to cultivate a sophisticated celebration of all things wild and sustainable.

Bret Cameron has been welcomed as the new executive chef for Sofitel Noosa and Noosa Beach House Restaurant.

The announcement comes just weeks after Noosa Beach House was awarded a prestigious 2023 Chef Hat Award recognised by Australian Good Food Guide.

Mr Cameron is well known for his passion and knowledge of native Australian produce and has boasted countless media recognitions from his time at Harvest Newrybar in northern New South Wales.

He will bring a new menu and fresh direction to the restaurant, which will include seasonal favourites such as lamb cutlets with pomegranate, pancetta and charred onion or fish with smoked Noosa Red tomato and basil.

“I’m looking forward to working with the abundance of amazing produce in Noosa, and across the Sunshine Coast where some of the best seafood in Australia is sourced,” he said.

“My ethos is flavoursome and honest food cooked simply to let the produce speak for itself on the plate.”

Welcoming Mr Cameron, general manager Mark Wilkinson said there were big plans in store for the restaurant in 2023, including the relaunch of the popular Champagne Summer Lunch Series.

“We’re incredibly proud of our team of talented chefs at Noosa Beach House Restaurant, who consistently strive to deliver a dining experience of unparalleled culinary excellence.”

Mr Cameron will be supported by a strong leadership team, including Martijn de Boer as director of food and beverage, and renowned sommelier Remon Van de Kerkhof, who has recently joined Sofitel Noosa Pacific as head of beverage.

Noosa Beach House Restaurant is open Monday to Sunday from 5.30pm to 10pm. The adjoining bar is open daily from 11am to late.
