The long-anticipated opening of the Coast’s newest venue has been met with so much popularity it is already booked out for the next two weeks.

Described as being “different to anything seen here before” and set among the leafy Noosa Valley, The Doonan officially opened its doors on Thursday.

See below for photos from The Doonan’s VIP launch.

The family friendly venue – located on a two-hectare property – brings a locally inspired paddock-to-plate experience with a touch of Italian flair, plus plenty of green spaces and bars for visitors to enjoy.

Being touted as a ‘must-visit’ location, it draws inspiration from the popular Sandstone Point Hotel, The Farm at Byron Bay and The Grounds of Alexandria in Sydney.

Upon officially opening on March 2, keen diners snapped up bookings until at least March 15 with limited bookings available until at least March 26.

Speaking with Sunshine Coast News in January, the Comiskey Group director Rob Comiskey said it was very “outdoor-orientated” with thousands of plants to give it a nursery atmosphere.

“It really is something a bit more than your local pub,” Mr Comiskey said.

“It is a hotel and it has a pub licence, but when you come here you wouldn’t know if you were eating in a cafe, a nursery or a pub.

“The theme is all along that nursery line. So, you can come and eat in the abandoned potting shed and eat in a real greenhouse.”

The menu reflects the best of fresh local produce with ingredients showcased including Mooloolaba prawns, Yandina macadamias, hinterland mushrooms, Noosa Reds tomatoes,  locally sourced meats and salad, herbs and produce grown on site.

As well as delicious woodfired pizza, other menu items include The Doonan cheeseburger, steaks, local crab and zucchini fritter and whole snapper.

There is also a range of salads, entrees and a kids menu, plus an extensive cocktail and wine list.

The Doonan is located at 6 Beddington Road and bookings are essential. Visit thedoonan.com.au.

Last Sunday The Doonan hosted a crowd of excited special guests, industry partners and media to experience what the venue had to offer in an exclusive first look. Scroll down to see the photos.
