Golf enthusiasts will be able to tee up more time to work on their game with the opening of a new simulation centre this month.

Clubhouse Golf describes itself as an indoor driving range and performance centre, and is set to open in the popular Ocean Street precinct in Maroochydore on June 17.

Founders and self-confessed “golf tragics” Dave and Chloe Benson say the concept originated from being too short on time for a full 18 holes on a golf course.

“Chloe and I wanted to play more golf but with being parents to six children, the ability to practice and play regularly is almost impossible because of how long it takes,” Mr Benson said.

“We needed a place that we could not only play a round in under 60 minutes, but have the most innovative technologies in the world to improve our game.

“Additionally, we wanted to create a world-class space with a country club vibe that golfers aspire to be part of.”

Clubhouse Golf utilises the latest in ball-tracking technology.

The facility includes four simulators where golfers can choose from more than 200 courses worldwide, allowing them to play a round in less than an hour. There’s also seven indoor driving range bays with 5m screens, plus a putting green, fitness centre, 24 car parks and a bar serving food and drinks.

“Clubhouse Golf is the only indoor golf centre in Queensland to offer an indoor driving range with 10m of ball flight so you can actually see the ball come off the club, not just whack it into a screen,” Mr Benson said.

The new centre occupies 650sqm on Ocean Street.

“It also is using Trackman and Full Swing radar technology, which are both endorsed by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and every top player on the tour right now.”

The Bensons are the founders of Execute Digital, a digital marketing agency with 15 staff in Maroochydore, serving clients across Australia and the US.

Originally from Sydney, they now live in Minyama.

Mrs Benson will be the general manager and “head guru” of Clubhouse Golf.

“We wanted to create an inspiring environment for members and the public to improve their game regardless of weather conditions, a place where golfers aspire to be part of,” she said.

“After spending some time in the US and Sydney in the past 12 months, we have seen some world-class golf facilities and, as entrepreneurs and golf tragics, we wanted to bring that to our home of the Sunny Coast.

“We went looking for a venue in Maroochydore in March, found an amazing 650sqm premises on Ocean Street, immediately signed a lease and got to work.

“The approval process was actually simple as we found a location that is zoned for multi-use entertainment.”

Clubhouse Golf features a seven-bay indoor driving range and four simulators.

The centre will operate under the experienced leadership of Josh Lane, formerly a PGA teaching professional at Twin Waters Golf Club and Mona Vale Golf Club in Sydney.

There will be between 5 and 10 other part-time staff.

The centre will be open from 6am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sunday. Casual sessions start from $35, with memberships from $34 a week.
