A collection of breweries and distilleries from around the region are teaming up for an “adventure-style” craft drinks experience as part of an exciting culinary event.
Some of Mooloolaba’s favourite bars will play host to the upcoming MooloolaBARS, a signature event of The Curated Plate culinary festival.
From large and loud favourites to more intimate bars across The Wharf, Esplanade and central Mooloolaba precincts, the roving craft drinks experience is a celebration of Sunshine Coast beer, spirits, food and music.
MooloolaBARS co-founder Craig Williams said the concept was born from the idea for a different Sunshine Coast festival – but not another beer festival.
“As a group of Sunny Coast locals, we wanted to showcase the Sunshine Coast as a stunning region to visit, and destination for quality producers and makers,” he said.
“It’s our way of thanking the industry, providing support to them and giving them a platform to connect and celebrate with discerning drinkers and food lovers.”
Happening on July 29 from 2pm to 9pm, each participating bar will showcase a curated offering from a Sunny Coast brewery or distillery.
“Expect signature cocktails, unique and flavourful beers, gin flights, rum tastings, meet-the-maker talks and creative food and drink pairings,” Mr Williams said.
Venues will include 4 Pines, Blackflag Brewing, Boston Shaker Bar, Dirty Moes, Ninth Street, Prawn Star, See Restaurant, Taps, Virtue Bar and Eats, and WAT Den.
Craft beer will be available from Blackflag Brewing, Brouhaha Brewing, Diablo, Heads of Noosa, Jarrah Boy, Moffat Beach Brewing Co, Noosa Hinterland Brewing Co, Terella Brewing and Your Mates Brewing Co.
Spirits from Black Cockatoo Rum, Eros Vodka, Nil Desperandum, Pomona Distilling Co, Steampunk Distillery and Sunshine and Sons will be the key ingredients for the signature cocktails.
Mr Williams said each ticket would include access to the venues during the event, a stubby cooler, lanyard and coupons for five beverages.
“Plus, there’ll be a bevy of volunteers stationed throughout the MooloolaBARS precinct to help you find your next watering hole,” he said.
“If you’ve sipped all your samplers, or something has really tickled your tastebuds, you can also purchase additional samplers or full glasses to enjoy.”
Tickets are $38 each, or $33 each when five or more tickets are purchased. Tickets are available at mooloolabars.com.
MooloolaBARS is a proud partner of The Curated Plate.
The Curated Plate is a celebration of the Sunshine Coast’s local produce, producers and chefs, as well as the region’s unique natural assets from the sea to the hinterland. It is an initiative of Sunshine Coast Council and supported by the Sunshine Coast Food and Agribusiness Network (FAN) and Visit Sunshine Coast.
The 10-day program runs from July 28 to August 6.
