While it might not have been a week for the record books, there’s still been a few solid catches on the Coast over the past week.

As we head into the weekend, conditions look mixed for the coming week. While the days will be warmer, the wind should keep most fishos at bay this week.

As always, be sure to check the daily forecast before heading out.

Offshore

The Snapper and Pearl Perch closure ended this week, with reports of both species being caught in good numbers since the reopening.

The Hards has fished well over the past week with Snapper, Pearl Perch, Amberjack and Tuskfish catches reported.

Tuskfish have also been reported on the Barwon Banks, while good catches of Mahi Mahi have been caught out at the FADS.

Estuary

Maroochy River

The Maroochy River has had a bit of everything this week for those willing to persist.

There have been a few Big Eye Trevally, Moses Perch and Bream around the Cod Hole.

If you head towards Chambers Island you might find a few GTs and Cale Cale Trevally.

A few good Jewfish catches have also been reported this week.

The creeks are fishing better than the main river on the outgoing tide, with prawn and paddletail soft plastics getting the most action.

We’ve had reports of a few good-size Mud Crabs caught recently in the Maroochy River around Bli Bli, so it might be worth soaking the pots next time you head out.

Noosa River

Tewantin Marina and Noosa Sound have been the go-to spots for Bream this week, while Trevally are making a show around Munna Point bridge.

Big schools of Bream have been spotted and are best targeted with burley and unweighted hooks.

For those chasing Flathead, the Frying Pan and at the mouth are your pick of the spots.

The Tewantin stretch has also seen a bit of action this week with catches of Flathead and Trevally reported.

If you’re fishing with bait, try pilchards and slimy mackerel.

Caloundra

The waters around Caloundra have been more generous this week.

Inside the passage, Flathead are on the chew and many anglers have found them as bycatch while targeting Whiting with worms.

Queenfish and Trevally have been terrorising bait schools on the turn of the tide.
