Flotilla Commander Lee Campbell from Coast Guard Mooloolaba QF6 said the American submarine was here resupplying with food and other provisions.
He said the Coast Guard kept an exclusion zone around it for safety during the operation.
Thursday, August 24, 7am: Paramedics transported a stable male patient with a shoulder injury to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a pedestrian and vehicle incident on Maltman Street, Caloundra, at 6.14pm on Wednesday. Meanwhile, further north at Noosaville, a male in his teens sustained a a leg injury following a fall from an electric bicycle on Hilton Terrace at 6.12pm. He was in a stable condition when paramedics transported him to Nambour Hospital.

Tuesday, August 22, 3.45pm:Â Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the non-suspicious sudden death of a man on a boat off Caloundra this afternoon.
Emergency services were initially called just after 1.15pm to a vessel off the Caloundra coast, near Bray Rocks, where they located the man.
A report will be prepared for the coroner. There is no further information available at this time.

Tuesday, August 22, 1.20pm: Former Queensland premier Mike Ahern will receive a state funeral after his family accepted an offer from the state government.
Mr Ahern died aged 81 on August 11 at his Sunshine Coast home after a battle with cancer.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the service would be held in Caloundra on Friday.
The former National Party leader was premier from 1987 to 1989 after the long reign Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen, and he faced the difficult task of steering the state during the fallout from the Fitzgerald Inquiry into police and official corruption.
Leaders from across the political divide paid tribute to Mr Ahern as a man of integrity.

The warning, at advice level, was issued because of smoke from multiple fires burning in the Conondale area.
Monday, August 21, 11.45am: A section of Gull’bu rah Environment Reserve at Yandina Creek will undergo a planned burn, weather permitting, on Tuesday between 9am to 5pm as part of Sunshine Coast Council’s Bushfire Management Program.
 A 9.5-hectare section will be burnt. Smoke impacts to surrounding residents and road users should be minimal. Smoke will be noticed in immediate areas surrounding the reserve, including roads around Yandina Creek.
Monday, August 21, 6.45am: A stable male patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Coronation Avenue, Nambour, at 12.20am.
Sunday, August 20, 1.45pm: A bushfire warning for Bellthorpe and Conondale was cancelled at 12:35pm. Fire conditions had eased. Crews were expected to continue to monitor the situation.
But a separate bushfire warning, to avoid smoke, was still in place for Kenilworth, Conondale, Bellthorpe and Maleny, with an Advice warning level.
Smoke was affecting those areas, from multiple fires burning in the Conondale area.
