With more than 35 years capturing the quintessential Sunshine Coast lifestyle in the form of custom homes, it’s no doubt this local building company has seen a few trends come and go.
From new and upgraded products, to improved finishes and new colours, the Warana-based builder has recently refurbished its studio to show off the latest in quality design in one place.
While display homes have been popular for people to make their design choices, Dwyer Quality Homes general manger Ben Murphy said its Studio 256 was the perfect place to “visualise and individualise” a dream home.
“Four years ago we changed the way we do things,” Mr Murphy said.
“We used to have three levels of inclusions for people to choose from. We had a Gold, Silver and Platinum range but we found people were picking and choosing from all three.
“We wanted a nice, wide range of inclusions that customers could choose from with no additional charges when they get to that part of the process.”
Studio 256 was born and Mr Murphy said the refurbishment allowed it to keep an up-to-date space for existing and future customers.
“There are new products coming out all the time and improvements to finishes and designs,” he said.
“We welcome people to come in and have a browse around before they are ready to build their home.
“There are lots of mood boards with pre-determined colours, selections, finishes and styles, so if people aren’t sure what they want there is plenty of inspiration to get you started.
“Ninety per cent of our projects are custom, so it’s good to see people come in with their ideas and get that guidance along the way to create something that they want.”
Mr Murphy said the space had a range of finishes including tapware, handles and joinery choices.
“With the tapware finishes, you’ve got chromes, matte black, gun metals and gold – all the different colours and shapes,” he said.
“Something standard with us too, is our freestanding back to wall bathtubs.”
Mr Murphy has been with Dwyer Quality Homes since 2004 and said he loved being part of a local team that delivered dream homes across the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast.
“We have lots of long-standing staff, all locals of course,” he said.
“I enjoy coming in day to day and the people I work with, it’s great to see the team put together our clients’ ideas.
“It’s such a rewarding part for all of us in here when we get to the end of the process knowing how much of an input clients have had into the home they are going to live in.”
Addressing impacts to the building industry in general over recent years, Mr Murphy said supply issues were improving, however demand for labour continued across the board.
