The Sunshine Coast is quickly emerging as the place to buy Lotto tickets, after another local shopper won a fortune during the weekend.

The winner collected more than $770,000 in the Saturday Gold Lotto draw, about a week after another local was stunned to bag $1m.

It continues a hot streak of recent lotto wins for Sunshine Coast punters, including a $2.5m win last week and back-to-back million-dollar-plus wins in June and July.

The winner of a $1 million reward is still at large, after purchasing a successful Gold Lotto ticket at a Sunshine Coast news agency in late 2016.

The most recent winner held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in draw 4399.

The person has opted to remain anonymous and celebrate in private, so could not reveal how the winnings will be spent.

The winning ticket was purchased at Noosa Office Choice at Tewantin.

Noosa Office Choice owner Richard Rudledge said the team was thrilled to sell a second division one winning entry in the space of three months.

“We’re amazed,” he said.

“It was only a couple of months ago in July that we sold another division one winning entry.”

“Our customers have already started saying there must be something at play in our shop but we’re just happy that we’re playing a part in changing someone’s life.

“We’ll be celebrating for weeks to come.

“Congratulations to our wonderful winner and we hope this win is life-changing.”

The Lott spokesperson James Eddy said he was sure the winner would enjoy their prize.

“While we don’t know how the Sunshine Coast’s latest lottery winner will celebrate their extraordinary prize, there’s no doubt their head was spinning when they realised they’d become a division one winner and were taking home more than $770,000,” he said.

“Other division one winners regularly tell us they use their prizes to buy their dream home, help their nearest and dearest, and enjoy a long-overdue holiday.

“However our winner chooses to use their prize, we hope they enjoy their winning feeling as long as they can!”

The winning numbers were 37, 28, 27, 11, 41 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 1.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 299 so far in 2023, including 77 won by Golden Casket customers.
