Sunday, November 12, 11.20am: Paramedics assessed two patients in stable conditions after a light plane crash at Cootharaba at 9.10am. One patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital by helicopter while the other patient declined transport.

Saturday, November 11, 8.05pm: Two stable patients were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a vehicle and scooter incident on the corner of Wyandra Drive and Oceanic Drive at Warana at 2.15pm.

Saturday, November 11, 3.15pm: A person in a stable condition has been transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle into a wall crash on Chevallum Road at Chevallum at 1.42pm.

Saturday, November 11, 11.55am: A patient in a stable condition was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a vehicle went into a tree on Upper Landershute Road, Landers Shoot, at 9.12am.

Saturday, November 11, 6.30am: A male in his 30s with chest, back and leg injuries was airlifted in a serious condition by helicopter to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a paragliding incident near a section of the Cooloola Great Walk in the Great Sandy National Park at 5.34pm yesterday.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called into action shortly before 6pm.

The LifeFlight rescue pilot was able to safely land on sand dunes close to the crash scene.

It is believed the paraglider fell about 10 metres before hitting the ground.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics, Queensland Fire and Emergency Service officers and the Queensland Police Service were on scene when the rescue chopper arrived.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked alongside QAS paramedics to treat the patient.

Friday, November 10, 3pm: A patient in a stable condition was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the corner of Lake Kawana Boulevard and Southbank Parkway, Birtinya, at 1.10pm.

Friday, November 10, 12.50pm: Detectives investigating several vehicle thefts in the Sunshine Coast and Gympie areas have released CCTV vision of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

About 3pm on October 14, a Subaru WRX was stolen from a Southside address in Gympie during a test drive through a social media advertisement. It was located along Gympie Connection Road in Gympie a few hours later.

Similar instances occurred at other addresses in Gympie on October 15 and October 20, as well as in Buderim on November 3 and Birtinya on November 8.

Investigations indicate that a man is using fake Facebook profiles to respond to advertisements, and then meets the seller, takes the vehicle for a test drive and doesn’t return.

Police believe this man may be able to help with inquiries into vehicle thefts.

Anyone who recognises the man or has any information that may assist police with their investigation is urged to contact police. Police are also appealing for anyone with a similar experience to contact police.

Friday, November 10, 9.35am: Two people have been retrieved from a life raft in the water after a light aircraft went down off Maroochydore. The patients were taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further assessment.

Friday, November 10, 8.25am: Two patients declined treatment or transport to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the Nambour Connection Road off-ramp at Woombye at 7.36am.

Friday, November 10, 8.25am: Paramedics attended a two-vehicle crash on the corner of Mons Road and Parsons Road, Forest Glen, at 6.55am. No patients required treatment or transport.

Thursday, November 9, 7am: Paramedics treated one male patient with head injuries after an e-scooter crash was reported on Burnett Street, Buderim, at 8.05pm on Wednesday. The patient was transported in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Birtinya.

Wednesday, November 8, 4.12pm: Queensland Fire and Emergency Services cancelled an Avoid Smoke – Advice warning after fire conditions eased at Little Mountain. Crews were no longer required on scene at the incident.

Wednesday, November 8, 3.35pm: Paramedics treated a patient with minor injuries following a vehicle and bicycle incident on Jones Road, Buderim, at 3pm. They were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Wednesday, November 8, 3.05pm: An Avoid Smoke – Advice warning was issued for Little Mountain and surrounding areas at 2.38pm.

The smoke is from a fire burning at Koala Court, Little Mountain. The fire is under control.

Wednesday, November 8, 1pm: Optus mobile and internet services are gradually being restored after a nationwide outage left millions of Australians disconnected for close to nine hours.

The network dropped out about 4am on Wednesday, with Optus customers and businesses unable to connect to the internet or make or receive calls.

An Optus spokesman confirmed some of its services were gradually being restored from about noon.

Wednesday, November 8, 11.10am: A patient in a stable condition was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a reported snake bite at a private address at Buderim at 9.56am.

Wednesday, November 8, 7am: A woman in her 60s was transported with minor injuries to Nambour Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Argyle Crescent, Coes Creek, at 7.12pm last night.

Wednesday, November 8, 6.20am: Optus has been hit by a nationwide outage, with its mobile phone and internet services down for millions of Australian customers and businesses.

On its website early on Wednesday, Optus said its engineers were investigating a network fault impacting customers.

Mobile phone users are unable to make or receive calls and mobile internet services are down.

On the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, Optus said it was working to restore services as a priority.

Train services were reportedly interrupted in Melbourne due to the outage, with ongoing delays expected.

Tuesday, November 7, 12.30pm: Australia’s central bank has pulled the trigger on a widely-expected 25 basis point interest rate hike aimed at driving down stubbornly high inflation.

The move takes the official cash rate to 4.35 per cent.

Provided banks pass the increase on to borrowers, the cash rate hike will add an extra $84 to monthly repayments for a $500,000 loan over 30 years.

Tuesday, November 7, 12.30pm: Police have released more details about their investigations into reports of a serious assault in Nambour yesterday.

Initial investigations indicate about 7.15pm, two men became involved in a verbal altercation in a carpark along Currie Street.

One of the men was in a vehicle at the time of the altercation and struck the other man who was standing nearby.

The vehicle then left the scene and remains outstanding.

A 34-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Police attended and declared a crime scene. Investigations are continuing.

Monday, November 6, 12.55pm: A stable patient was transported to Nambour Hospital following a single-vehicle crash into a pole on Ernest and Goodchap streets, Tewantin, at 12.07pm.

Monday, November 6, 9.40am: Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has extended a local fire ban for residents in the Sunshine Coast and Noosa local government areas.

The local fire ban will be in place until 11.59pm on Monday, November 13.

Monday, November 6, 6.50am: A man in his 20s was transported to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries following a single-vehicle crash into a tree on Fig Tree Lane, North Arm, at 10.06pm last night.
