It warns of the potential for damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall.

Sunday, December 17, noon: Detectives have released further CCTV footage as part of their appeal to identify a man found deceased in the Maroochy River on November 30.

The vision gives a clearer view of the man’s face, as he enters a Maroochydore business at approximately 5.45pm on November 27.

Detectives are trying to identify this man.

Police say the latest CCTV is the best indication of what the man looked like.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV footage or has information to assist the identification process is urged to contact police.

Sunday, December 17, 9.40am: A 10-year-old girl is fighting for life after being struck by lightning as more wild weather descended on Queensland causing major flooding in Cairns.

The girl was injured at a private property in Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast at 2.30pm on Saturday during severe thunderstorms due to ex-cyclone Jasper.

She was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital and then flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, Queensland Police confirmed.

Sunday, December 17, 9.10am: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a motorcycle crash on Kawana Way, Birtinya, at 7.46am.

Sunday, December 17, 9.10am: A woman in her 60s was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition following a two-vehicle crash on Maroochydore Road, Maroochydore, at 10.23pm last night.

Saturday, December 16, 6pm: Paramedics, including critical care paramedics, have transported a child in a critical condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after they were struck by lightning at a private address at Beerwah at 2.20pm.

Severe thunderstorms rolled through the region during the afternoon, with strong winds, heavy rain and some hail.

More than 9100 properties were without power on the Sunshine Coast, including more than 1700 in the Glass House Mountains area, at 6pm. There were almost 2400 properties without power in the Noosa region.

Saturday, December 16, 1.45pm: A severe thunderstorm warning for South-East Queensland, including the Sunshine Coast, was issued at 1.38pm.

It warns of the potential for damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall.

The warning covers parts of Ipswich, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay council areas.

Saturday, December 16, 8.30am: Paramedics transported a man in his 20s to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at Black Mountain at 7.15pm last night.

Saturday, December 16, 5.15am: About 1200 homes across the Sunshine Coast were without power after storms rolled through the region last night. The worst-hit suburbs were in the hinterland, with Peachester and Glass House Mountains having 581 and 228 customers without power respectively. The Energex website lists the cause of the outages as “damage due to severe weather”.

Friday, December 15, 10.40am: A person was transported to Nambour Hospital, in a stable condition with smoke inhalation, following a house fire on Keith Royal Drive at Marcoola at 8.36am.

Friday, December 15, 5.35am: Thunderstorms are possible for the Sunshine Coast during the next few days. A heatwave warning also remains. There should be warm temperatures ranging from 22 to 34 degrees Celsius at Maroochydore, but it should feel hotter amid northerly winds.

There is the chance of thunderstorms for the Sunshine Coast.

Thursday, December 14, 10.25am: Police have charged a 21-year-old man following investigations into multiple alleged dangerous driving incidents across South-East Queensland during the past three months.

Officers from Highway Patrol Sunshine Coast initially stopped the man on November 9, on the Bruce Highway at Eumundi, allegedly going more than 60km/h over the 110km/h speed limit.

A man has been charged with multiple traffic offences.

Following further investigations, police were able to link the man and the motorbike to several other alleged dangerous driving incidents. Those include the motorbike allegedly travelling at high speed along Gympie Road in Carseldine on October 21, the motorbike allegedly driving dangerously along the Bruce Highway through Sunshine Coast on November 7 and proceeded to allegedly drive at high speeds through a residential area in Morayfield.

Police attended his home in Morayfield on November 30 and arrested the man. He has since been charged with 10 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and one count each of possess dangerous drugs, fail to stop for police and obstruct police. The man has also received a high-speed TIN, worth $1780 and eight demerit points, in addition to three other TINS for number plate offences. He’s set to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on December 22 for sentencing.

Thursday, December 14, 9.30am: The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash on Blackgate Road at Amamoor near Gympie this morning.

Police were called just after 1am with initial investigations indicating a blue utility had left the road and rolled. The driver, a 38-year-old woman, died at the scene.

Police are appealing to anyone may have been driving in the Amamoor area at the time of the crash, or who may have dash-camera footage, to contact them. Investigations are ongoing.

Thursday, December 14, 9.30am: A patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with a significant arm injury following an incident involving a power tool at a private address at Buderim at 7.45am.

Thursday, December 14, 6.15am: Two females, both in their late teens, sustained abdominal injuries and were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, following a single-vehicle rollover on Pikes Road, Beerwah, at 9.43pm Wednesday.

Wednesday, December 13, 3.20pm: A severe heatwave is expected on the Sunshine Coast, from Thursday. Temperatures at Maroochydore are expected to range between 20 to 34 degrees Celsius from Thursday until Sunday, but it could feel warmer with northerly winds. It should reach 35 degrees Celsius at Nambour and Tewantin.

Wednesday, December 13, 12.15pm: A Queensland Police Service staff member from the North Coast Region has been charged and suspended.

The 52-year-old man is subject to allegations he possessed a weapon without a licence. He has been bailed to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 15, charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon.

Tuesday, December 12, 1pm: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Shires Road at Woombye at 11.50am.

Tuesday, December 12, 12.30pm: Detectives have released CCTV footage as part of their appeal to identify a man found deceased in the Maroochy River on November 30.

The vision shows the man attending a business in Maroochydore on November 27 and detectives now believe this is the same day he died. He is seen in the vision to be wearing the clothes he was discovered in.

Detectives have now deemed the death of the man not suspicious however continue to appeal for public assistance to help identify him.

Monday, December 11, 7am: A man in his 30s was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with a wrist injury following a two-vehicle crash on Beach Road and Duporth Avenue, Maroochydore, at 7.47pm last night.

Monday, December 11, 7am: Three men in their 20s were assisted from Mount Tibrogargan after they requested assistance while hiking at 8.10pm last night. The patients did not require medical assistance once off the mountain.

Sunday, December 10, 6pm: Paramedics transported a stable patient to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a vehicle and pedestrian incident at 4.47pm on Nicklin Way and Buderim Street, Currimundi.

Sunday, December 10, 2.05pm: Paramedics attended the Bruce Highway at 10.21am for a motorcycle crash at Palmview. One patient was transported in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
