Sunday, January 21, 7.55am: A heatwave continues to affect large parts of Queensland, including the Sunshine Coast. Temperatures are expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius at Maroochydore on Sunday and 33 degrees Celsius on Monday, but it should feel warmer with high humidity and dew point and only light winds.
Saturday, January 20, 7am: A male patient in his 30s was transported stable with an arm injury to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a fall from a bicycle on the corner of Hinkler Parade and Kippara Lane, Maroochydore, at 7.42pm last night.
Saturday, January 20, 7am: A stable male child patient with an arm injury was transported to Sunshine Cost University Hospital following a quad motorcycle crash on a private property at Cooroy at 5.56pm yesterday.
Friday, January 19, 3pm: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Yandina Coolum Road and the Sunshine Motorway at 11.54am.
Friday, January 19, 6.40am: A multi-vehicle crash involving a truck and two vehicles was reported on Sugar Road at Alexandra Headland at 10.36pm last night. Paramedics transported one female in her 40s with chest and arm injuries and a male in his 30s with minor injuries, both stable, to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Friday, January 19, 5.40am: Some showers and storms could be about during the weekend. The latest forecast is for a shower or two and the chance of a thunderstorm on Friday, showers with the chance of a thunderstorm on Saturday, and cloud clearing on Sunday, when light winds should shift from the SE to the NE. Temperatures should range between 23 to 32 degrees Celsius. It could feel very muggy at times, with high humidity and dew point.

Queensland Ambulance Service officers attended a location on Kensington Drive at Minyama at 9.15am.

Wednesday, January 17, 9.40am: A vehicle and cyclist crash was reported on Weyba Road, Noosaville, at 8.03am. Paramedics transported one stable patient to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Tuesday, January 16, 5.25pm: A teenage girl is the fourth person in two days to be airlifted by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew from K’gari (Fraser Island) with a marine sting.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew were tasked about 1pm when they treated the girl following a suspected irukandji sting to her hand.
The girl was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition accompanied by her mother.
Tuesday, January 16, 4.05pm: One stable patient has been transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a reported fall from a roof on Ocean Street at Maroochydore at 2.45pm.
Tuesday, January 16, 2pm: The Groovin the Moo music festival is returning to the Sunshine Coast in 2024, with a new venue locked in.
After making its debut on the Coast last year at the Western Fields at Kawana, this year it will be staged at Sunshine Coast Stadium.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 5.
Organisers said the line-up would be revealed “very soon”.

Tuesday, January 16, 6am: Paramedics transported a man in his 40s with neck pain to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition following a three-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Motorway southbound at Mountain Creek at 5.56pm yesterday.
Tuesday, January 16, 6am: A man in his 60s with a head injury was transported stable to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a fall from a golf buggy on Links Drive, Noosa Heads, at 5.55pm yesterday.
Tuesday, January 16, 5.50am: No patients required treatment or transport following a single vehicle into a pole incident on the corner of Buccleugh and Roderick streets, Moffat Beach, at 9pm yesterday.
Monday, January 15, 8pm: The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted an infant from K’gari (Fraser Island) after she was stung by what was believed to be an irukandji jellyfish.
The crew were tasked about 3.30pm and landed on the beach on the western side of the island. It was tasked to the same location just two hours earlier for a similar incident, and follows another incident on Sunday.
The aeromedical team worked alongside local Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics to treat the child.
She was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition accompanied by a parent.
Monday, January 15, 4pm: An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man from K’gari (Fraser Island) after he was stung by a jellyfish.
The Bundaberg-based crew was tasked about 1pm and landed on the western side of the island, where the RACQ LifeFlight critical care doctor treated him for an allergic reaction to the sting.
It is believed the man, aged in his 20s, was stung by an irukandji jellyfish.
He was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
It’s the second time in just two days that the LifeFlight crew has airlifted a patient from K’gari with a marine sting, after a girl was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital yesterday by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew.
