Saturday, March 16, 5.25pm: One stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a fall from a motorcycle on Obi Obi Road at Mapleton at 3.25pm.
Saturday, March 16, 3.55pm: One stable patient was transported with back pain following a two-vehicle crash on Tanawha Tourist Drive at 3.21pm.
Saturday, March 16, 1.30pm: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a motorcycle crash down an embankment on the Maleny Stanley River Road at Booroobin at 10.48am.
Saturday, March 16, 6.30am: A stable male patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Eumundi Noosa Road, Tewantin, at 12.53am.
Saturday, March 16, 6.30am: A man in his 20s with minor injuries was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition following a single-vehicle rollover on the corner of Eumarella Road and Walter Hay Drive, Weyba Downs, at 12.04am.
Saturday, March 16, 6.30am: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a motorcycle and vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway southbound near the Caloundra Road off-ramp at 6.54pm last night.
Friday, March 15, 5pm: The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has winched two men from the ocean after the boat they were in capsized after being hit by a wave.
The crew was tasked to the scene by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority about 1pm and located the upturned vessel around four nautical miles off Double Island Point.
The men, aged in their 70s, were able to use their Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB) to alert AMSA and Tin Can Bay Volunteer Marine Rescue.
Both men were wearing lifejackets.
It is believed a wave hit the rear of the boat, filling it with water and shutting down the engine.
The men were each winched into the helicopter.
Both were suffering from mild exposure and were airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital for observation.
Friday, March 15, 12.40pm: Paramedics transported a stable patient to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital after reportedly sustaining a snake bite to the foot at a private address at Aroona at 12pm.
Friday, March 15, 11.10am: Surf Life Saving Queensland is reminding beachgoers to swim between the red and yellow flags during a likely warm and windy weekend.
A Marine Wind Warning has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology for most of the Queensland coast, and beachgoers were reminded to be aware of changing conditions.
The best local beaches to visit should be Mooloolaba, Mooloolaba Spit, Alexandra Headland and Noosa Main.
Friday, March 15, 5.35am: A shower or two could around the Sunshine Coast this weekend. There’s a medium chance of showers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures ranging between 21 to 28 degrees Celsius and SW winds up to 30kmh. There’s also the chance of showers next week.
Thursday, March 14, 3.15pm: The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a boy who was injured while swimming off North Stradbroke Island.
The teenager was swimming at the beach when he landed on a stick under the water, which caused a stomach laceration. The aeromedical team was tasked to the scene at around 11am, where they worked with paramedics to treat the patient. The boy was accompanied by a family member when airlifted, in a stable condition, to Queensland Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
Thursday, March 14, 9.25am: One stable patient with a foot injury was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a vehicle and scooter incident on Nelson Street, Golden Beach, at 8.19am.
Thursday, March 14, 8.30am: One stable patient has been transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with arm and facial injuries following a vehicle and bicycle incident on the corner of Nicklin Way and Wurley Drive at Wurtulla at 7.32am.
Wednesday, March 13, 7.25am: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle rollover on Old Gympie Road at Beerwah at 6.25am.
Tuesday, March 12, 4.30pm: One stable patient was transported to Nambour Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at Cooroy at 2.11pm.
Tuesday, March 12, 11.20am: One stable patient has been transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Motorway north bound at Maroochydore at 9.54am.
Monday, March 11, 3.20pm: The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has winched a man from a shipping container vessel, about five nautical miles offshore.
The rescue chopper was tasked about 10am, to the ship’s location, off the coast of Kawana.
A member of the ship’s crew was reportedly suffering from a medical condition.
The Queensland Ambulance Service Flight Paramedic was winched down onto the ship to retrieve the patient.
The paramedic and patient were then hoisted safely back into the helicopter.
The patient was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
Monday, March 11, 9.05am: Paramedics were at the scene of a truck crash on the Bruce Highway at Chevallum at 8.23am. One patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following the crash.
Monday, March 11, 8.35am: A Hazardous Surf Warning was this morning issued for Sunshine Coast waters, until midnight tomorrow.
Surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming.
Monday, March 11, 7.15am: Two females in their late teens were transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable conditions after a vehicle collided with a tree off Eenie Creek Road, Noosaville, at 7.23pm last night.
Monday, March 11, 7.15am: Paramedics were called to a motorcycle crash in the forestry off Steve Irwin Way at Elimbah at 8.10pm last night. One man in his 30s was transported to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition with chest and shoulder pain.
Sunday, March 10, 7.45am: Paramedics transported four patients to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Bugum Road at North Maleny at midnight. They included: a man in his 30s in a serious condition with a head and arm injury; a man in his 20s in a stable condition with lacerations, a chest injury and a leg injury; a man in his 20s in a stable condition with minor injuries; and a male patient in a stable condition with an arm injury.
