The skyline of new Maroochydore CBD is transforming with the arrival of a tower crane on the Maroochy Private Hospital construction site, marking another significant milestone on the project.
The installation of the crane provides significant advantages to the McNab construction team, supporting progress on the next phases of the project, finalisation of in-ground works and commencement of the vertical structure.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, the $100 million Maroochy Private Hospital will provide surgical specialties alongside ancillary healthcare services, comprehensive pain management, sports medicine and allied health.
The project will generate about 2000 jobs during the 24-month construction phase.
Amanda Yeates, the CEO of SunCentral, which together with Sunshine Coast Council and Walker Corporation is delivering the new city centre, welcomed the milestone.
“With the addition of this crane we are one step closer to having world-class healthcare facilities here in the heart of Maroochydore,” she said.
“This crane symbolises more than just construction progress, it represents the provision of state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and an innovative healthcare hub for Sunshine Coast residents.”
McNab founder and managing director Michael McNab said the hospital, once completed, would benefit the Coast.
“We look forward to once again contributing to the skyline of the Maroochydore CBD – a first-of-its-kind regional civic, business and commercial heart – and providing an innovative healthcare hub for Sunshine Coast residents,” he said.
