Plans to establish a new microbrewery at an industrial estate next to Sunshine Coast Airport have been revealed.

Young Giants Brewery would occupy two industrial units at 11-15 Runway Drive, Marcoola, and include beer production facilities as well as a retail space.

A town planning report, prepared on behalf of Young Giants Brewery by Adams and Sparkes Town Planning, has been submitted to Sunshine Coast Council outlining the proposal.

“The development proposes to occupy a gross floor area of 431.4sqm and is to include fermenters, brew kits, mill room, canning line, keg washer, kitchen, cold room, office and an ancillary retail space,” it states.

“The proposed retail space will include tables and chairs for customers to taste (consume) the produced product (beer) onsite.

“The proposed microbrewery also includes a kitchen adjoining the proposed retail area, which allows for the preparation of food and the responsible sale of alcohol in accordance with the ancillary sale of products produced (beer).”
