An “intimate” new venue offering a versatile, “low-cost” space for small events has opened on the Coast.
Community CoLab can accommodate up to 20 people on the ground floor of the Sunshine Coast City Hall building in the emerging Maroochydore CBD.
Managed by the council’s community venues team, mayor Rosanna Natoli said the venue would be valuable to groups around the region.
“CoLab is a space that reflects our deep connection to the land, creating an exciting and valuable addition to the Maroochydore city centre,” Cr Natoli said.
“This underlines council’s commitment to fostering accessible and affordable spaces for the community’s benefit.
“It is also another example of how we are connecting and engaging with our communities to build a better future for everyone.
“Community CoLab is anticipated to be a valuable resource in meeting the increasing demand for community spaces in the region.
“I look forward to seeing our community enjoy this space.”
Community CoLab features a large-screen TV to facilitate presentations, whiteboard, folding tables on wheels and kitchenette with dishwasher.
