I’m amazed to hear money is being spent on a section of road that, for me, when travelling on it every day to and from work, doesn’t flow too badly.

So why is the money not spent where the real problem lies, which is the Deagon Deviation?

That section is shocking and needs to be addressed.

I travel the highway frequently between my home in Caloundra and Capalaba and find that the northbound section between opposite the airport and the Gympie Road merger is a shocker, particularly after 3pm.

What boggles the mind is that it is only about 10 years old and is mostly only two lanes.

This is very sad news to all the Coast’s book lovers.

Before my family returned to live on the Coast in 1992, each year we would holiday here, staying with family in Nambour and, each year, we always visited the book exchange to pick up some books, comics and puzzles during the holidays.

A good suggestion for the owner, with regards to his stock, would be to contact Lifeline, as they hold their big bookfests here and in Brisbane twice a year. The books will live on!

As a person that lives in the Scenic Rim area, I must warn you of the lacklustre approach of fire ant control.

They are a serious pest and the government agency does not seem to have any control or containment of the problem. To try to report a nest is a joke and the response time, as stated, is delayed because of issues. I would urge people to read up on eradication methods and carry it out as soon as possible if in doubt. Yes, you may destroy a non-invasive pest, but you will help stop the spreading of these dreadful pests.

Don’t wait for government department to help you as they are to busy doing what?

Take control of it yourself, like a lot of people have started doing now. Sick of waiting for fire ants people to do the job.

Tom Garvin, Scenic Rim

I really hope they’re doing the beautiful parfaits like they used to?

If so, I’ll probably be a regular again. Great to see the Old Girl back up and running again.

Bryan Peck, Caboolture
