Friday, June 28, 5.20pm: A rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a person, in a stable condition, to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after an excavator and tree incident incident at Burrum Heads at 3.02pm.

Smoke is currently affecting Landsborough, Maleny, Beerwah, Eudlo and surrounding areas. This is from a hazard reduction burn in the Dularcha National Park. This fire is under control.

Friday, June 28, 6.35am: There could be just a shower or two during the weekend. The BOM expects partly cloudy conditions with a medium chance of showers on Saturday (50 per cent) and a slight chance of showers on Sunday (20 per cent). The temperature should range between  13 to 25 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday, June 26, 6.15pm: Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist them with their investigations into thefts from bottle shops on the Sunshine Coast.

During May and June 2024 and August 2023, three bottle shop businesses in Buderim, Maroochydore and Bli Bli reported a man stealing several bottles of alcohol on 13 occasions.

Police are trying to identify this man.

Police believe the man may be from overseas as he is known to use an international bank card.

He has also been seen driving at least two different cars with Victorian number plates.

Investigators are appealing to the man, or anyone who recognises him, to contact police.

Wednesday, June 26, 2.55pm: Emergency services were called to a crash on the Bruce Highway, Palmview, near Aussie World, at 2.20pm. Two people received minor injuries but did not need to be taken to hospital. Police are still on the scene. At least one car and a truck were involved in the accident, which did not block the highway although did interfere with northbound traffic.

Tuesday, June 25, 2.25pm: The Sunshine Coast Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for public assistance following a serious two-vehicle crash yesterday.

Preliminary information indicates about 5.30pm, a green Moto Guzzi motorcycle and a black Toyota Corolla travelling southbound on the Sunshine Motorway collided near the Mooloolaba off-ramp.

The motorcycle rider, a 68-year-old Mooloolah Valley man, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Corolla, a 21-year-old Maroochydore woman, was not physically injured.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or any one with dashcam vision from the area to come forward.

Tuesday, June 25, 11.15am: Emergency services were called to two entrapped patients following a single-vehicle crash on Lake Cooroibah Road at Cooroibah, near Noosa, at 11am.

The patients were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, one with life-threatening injuries and the other in a stable condition.

Smoke was affecting Landsborough, Maleny, Beerwah, Eudlo and surrounding areas, from a hazard reduction burn in the Dularcha National Park. The fire was under control.

Monday, June 24, 1.40pm: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a fall from an e-scooter on Pacific Boulevard, Buddina, at 12.28pm.

Monday, June 24, 11.20am: Police have located a 37-year-old woman who was reported missing from Maleny.

Monday, June 24, 11am: The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting a planned burn in Dularcha National Park, near Landsborough, from today until Friday, weather permitting. Smoke may be seen in the nearby areas.

Monday, June 24, 10am: One patient was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with a facial injury after a vehicle and bicycle crash on Bowman Road, Caloundra, at 9.20am.

Monday, June 24, 10am: A stable patient was transported to Nambour Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Blaxland Road and Lachlan Avenue, Nambour, at 8.21am.

Sunday, June 23, 4pm: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Mons Road and Telco Road at Mons at 1.42pm.

Saturday, June 22, 7.15am: Police have charged a 49-year-old man in relation to an alleged wounding incident in Gympie last night.

It will be alleged that about 6.20pm, an altercation occurred at a Lawrence Street property between two men who are known to each other.

A short time later, a 50-year-old man was allegedly stabbed.

He sustained serious injuries and was transported to Gympie Hospital before being airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The Queensland Ambulance Service reported the man had life-threatening injuries.

A 49-year-old Gympie man was taken into custody at the scene and charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.

Investigators are appealing anyone with information to come forward.
