When Sarah Mabb and Alex Dwyer met as students at Immanuel Lutheran College in 2007, little did they know that 10 years later their friendship would blossom into a beautiful love connection.

They knew early on that they’d found their ‘one’, which was confirmed after spending a month travelling together and loving every second of each other’s company.

“Planning our wedding was a team effort,” Sarah said.

“We fell absolutely in love with two amazing venues so decided to book them both.”

Earlier this year at the Old Maleny Dairy, 60 of their nearest and dearest family and friends gathered on a perfect Sunshine Coast afternoon surrounded by spectacular views and vibrant blooms for their wedding.

But the breathtaking vista was no competition as all eyes turned to the aisle as Sarah appeared looking radiant on the arm of her very proud father Steve to ABBA’s classic song I’ve Been Waiting For You.

More than a few tears were shed during the ceremony, with Alex’s dad Wayne presenting the rings.

All four parents were included and honoured during the ceremony, as Alex and Sarah had also asked their mums Vicki and Julie to do the honour of signing as official witnesses.

After the cheers and an elegant confetti-showered dip-kiss on the aisle, followed by a few glasses of champagne, the couple enjoyed their photo shoot and time out to say their personally written vows to each other in a peaceful and private space.

“Saying our personal vows privately after the ceremony was such a special moment,” they said.

A cosy, opulent reception held at Montvale at Montville saw a night of dancing, fabulous food, laughter and of course delicious wedding cake. Every aspect of the evening really was perfection, with a roaring open fire and twinkling fairy lights adding to the exquisite aesthetic.

“All the love and happiness for us from all our friends and family made it feel so special,” they said.

“It really was the best day ever, we couldn’t stop smiling.

“We were totally relaxed and had total faith in our dream team of suppliers, who we knew we could trust.

“It really was a dream team and a dream day.”

The two busy newlyweds will wait until the end of the year to enjoy their well-deserved round-the-world jetset honeymoon.
