Sarah Burdon grew up watching Jordan Chilvers and her brother hang out as best mates and play footy together.

Then, after knowing each for years, Sarah and Jordan’s relationship changed.

“All of a sudden, I started to notice Jordy would be at the gym in the afternoons when I was there,” Sarah said.

“He was very chatty over the stretches and leg extensions, and I didn’t mind because we started to get to know each other a bit more and I thought he was very cute.

“It wasn’t long before we decided to go on a date and, as they say, the rest is history. “Now I’m Mrs Chilvers and the best mates have become brothers-in-law – they’re family, so everyone is very happy’.

The wedding day was a spectacle of perfection: every detail was perfect, the sun shone and even the sunset turned on a colourful show.

The couple planned a private, romantic meeting before the ceremony, where they saw each other for the first time. They read their emotional vows to each other and shook off nerves, a precious time together they will always cherish.

Their ceremony was held underneath the garden arbour at Twin Waters Golf Club, where they shared their rings and shed a few tears.

“We loved the idea of being married at the golf club at Twin Waters, because our 55 guests who’d travelled from as far as New Zealand and Bundaberg could relax and enjoy the ceremony with us, and then stay for canape hour and the reception party onsite,” Sarah said.

“It also meant that we had the afternoon of fun – it really was hysterically funny and the best afternoon ever riding golf buggies for our photo shoot.

“We loved the backdrop of the rolling fairways, lush Australian bush and even the odd kangaroo appearance.

“Our planner Georgina had organised drinks and a charcuterie nibbles box for us too, which was a huge hit.”

The couple surprised guests, opting to take a pass on the first dance, instead joining their party ‘al fresco’ on the golf course lawn, dancing and cheering to confetti poppers, sparklers and a champagne pouring tower.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Chilvers.
