Friday, October 25, 9pm: There’s a slight chance of a shower or two this weekend. It should be partly cloudy with temperatures between 16 to 26 degrees Celsius and with light winds becoming easterly to norther-easterly to 20kmh.
Surf Life Saving Queensland urged beachgoers to be wary and said the best beaches to visit should be Kings Beach, Mooloolaba, Mooloolaba Spit, Alexandra Headland and Noosa Main Beach.
Friday, October 25, 4.50pm: Police are directing traffic following a serious traffic crash on Eenie Creek Road, Noosaville.
A vehicle and motorcycle collided near Reef Street about 3.40pm. Paramedics assessed one patient who sustained life-threatening injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit has been called to investigate.
Thursday, October 24, 6.15pm: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Emu Mountain Arterial Road at Peregian Springs at 4.20pm.
Thursday, October 24, 6.15pm: Severe thunderstorms are no longer affecting the Sunshine Coast. The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.
Thursday, October 24, 4.55pm: A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for parts of the Sunshine Coast at 4.40pm.
The Bureau of Meteorology warned that a severe thunderstorm likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones was detected near Crohamhurst and Maleny.
The thunderstorm was moving towards the east. It was forecast to affect Peachester by 4.55pm and Mount Beerwah, Beerwah and Landsborough by 5.10pm.
Thursday, October 24, 8.50am: Emergency services attended the scene of a house fire on Nicholas Court at Bli Bli after a suspected gas bottle explosion this morning.
The fire was out upon the arrival of two firefighting crews at 6.30am. There were no reported injuries and the occupant was out of the house. Crews left at 7.04am.
Wednesday, October 23, 11.55am: Nobody needed ambulance treatment after a fire at a business on Waterview Street at Warana. Firefighters were called to a fire at the rear of the premises about 7.05am. Two crews from each of Kawana and Caloundra stations attended and had the fire under control in about 10 minutes.
Wednesday, October 23, 7.15am: Paramedics were tasked to a paragliding incident involving a male patient in his 20s near Rainbow Beach at 5.26pm. Read more here.
Tuesday, October 22, 4.50pm: Paramedics transported four stable patients to Nambour Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on David Low Way, Bli Bli, at 3.33pm.
Monday, October 21, 4.30pm: More than 71,000 people converged on Sunshine Coast beaches during the weekend, in the lead-up to summer.
A warm weekend attracted huge crowds to the surf across the state but the Sunshine Coast lured more than almost twice as many beachgoers as the Gold Coast.
Surf lifesavers and lifeguards performed five rescues and 1700 preventative actions with a further 39 first aid treatments in the region.
Surf Life Saving Queensland’s lifesaving manager Natalie Edwards reminded beachgoers to stay safe.
“With warmer weather well and truly here, we are urging people to remain vigilant, swim only between the red and yellow flags and to be sure to supervise your children,” she said.

Sunday, October 20, 6.30am: Paramedics transported a stable male patient to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash into a tree on Jessica Boulevard, Minyama, at 12.04am.
Sunday, October 20, 6.30am: Emergency crews responded to a serious two-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Motorway at Coolum Beach at 3.25pm yesterday.
Paramedics transported three patients to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following the crash: a male patient with life-threatening chest and abdominal injuries, a stable female patient with chest injuries and a stable male patient in his 60s with chest injuries.
Traffic in both directions was impacted.
