A state-of-the-art $5.2 million science facility could be built at a Sunshine Coast school.
Labor has promised to provide the precinct at Nambour State College, if elected this month.
The centre would include a workshop, design studios and robotics lab.
The facility would support advanced learning opportunities in key areas such as biology, chemistry, physics and environmental science, ensuring students are well prepared for both higher education and careers in STEM industries.
Member for Nicklin Rob Skelton expressed his enthusiasm for the project.
“Our children deserve the best learning environments to prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow,” he said.
“This new science block is an investment in their future and it reflects our commitment to ensuring every student has access to world-class education right here at home.
“With growing opportunities in renewable energy and engineering across our region like the Borumba Pumped Hydro Project, the new science block will equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in major infrastructure developments.
“The new facilities will enhance Nambour State College’s capacity to deliver high-quality, modern education while reinforcing the school’s standing as a premier institution in the region.”
The LNP candidate for Nicklin Marty Hunt was contacted for comment.
