Friday, November 8, 12.45pm: Surf Life Saving Queensland is reminding beachgoers to be cautious, as thousands head to the water during a heatwave.
SLSQ lifesaving services manager Natalie Edwards said more people are having a dip to cool off but they should be on guard.
“It is wonderful seeing beachgoers enjoying our beautiful coast however it is important people know their limits when entering the surf or creek and ensure they are closely supervising their children.”
“As usual the best place to swim is inside the red and yellow flags and during patrol hours.”
Friday, November 8, 7.05am: Paramedics attended a single-vehicle crash on Dame Patti Drive at Sunrise Beach at 10.35pm. One male patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. Â
Friday, November 8, 6.55am: A heatwave warning remains in place for the Sunshine Coast for this weekend. Temperatures should be in the low to mid-30s. There’s a slight chance of showers on both days and a chance of a thunderstorm on Sunday. Northerly winds should become easterly on Sunday.
Thursday, November 6, 1.35pm: A bushfire warning, at advice level (avoid smoke), has been cancelled for Wildhorse Mountain. Fire conditions have eased. Crews are no longer required on scene at this incident.
Wednesday, November 5, 1.05pm: A bushfire warning, at advice level (avoid smoke), has been issued for Wildhorse Mountain. Smoke is currently affecting Wildhorse Mountain and surrounding areas. This is from a fire burning near Johnston Road, Wildhorse Mountain. This fire is under control.
Wednesday, November 5, 6.30am: A severe heatwave warning has been issued for parts of the Sunshine Coast for the next few days.
Maximum temperatures should reach 33 degrees Celsius at Maroochydore, Noosa and Caloundra and 35 degrees Celsius at Nambour, but it could feel hotter amid northerly winds and at-times high humidity.
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.

Tuesday, November 5, 6.25pm: A bushfire warning, at advice level (stay informed) was issued for Wildhorse Mountain, near Glass House Mountains, at 4.50pm.
The Queensland Fire Department stated that a fire is burning along Johnston Road, near Wildhorse Mountain.
Firefighting aircraft are helping ground crews.
Tuesday, November 5, 1.50pm: Paramedics have transported a stable patient to Nambour Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Sixth Avenue at Maroochydore at 12.22pm.
Tuesday, November 5, 1.50pm: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a vehicle and e-scooter crash on Erlea street and Millwell Road at Maroochydore at 11.52am.
Tuesday, November 5, 10.40am: Paramedics have transported a stable patient to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash into a fence on Steve Irwin Way at 7.58am.
Monday, November 4, 4.10pm: Normal train services have resumed on the North Coast line after a truck incident closed a section of line for most of Monday.
The truck came into contact with the equipment at the Beams Road level crossing in Carseldine just after 5am.
Queensland Rail de-energise the overhead powerlines and crews worked to get the lines back up and running, while buses operated between Petrie and Northgate stations.Â
Train services resumed by about 4pm, with some bus services in operation to help cater for demand.
