A large riverside estate has been snapped up for $7.5 million amid renewed interest in prestige waterfront properties on the Sunshine Coast.

No.112 Mooloolah Drive, in the plum suburb of Minyama, features five bedrooms, three bathrooms and three car spaces.

Elite Lifestyle Properties real estate agent Jordan Lund said the 1150sqm home was prized because of its location, with stunning views and easy access to the Mooloolah River and Pacific Ocean.

“The property has 32m of water frontage so there’s space for a substantial vessel: up to a 70m yacht,” he said.

“You can go straight out on to the water and be in the ocean within a few minutes.”

While properties at nearby Minyama Island and Mooloolah Island are renowned for their grandeur and river access, Mr Lund said Mooloolah Drive also had plenty of appeal.

Multiple sales of more than $7 million have occurred along the 1.6km strip.

“It’s pretty good money, but it’s deserving of that,” Mr Lund said.

“Because of the water access and the aspect as well: there is such a long, broad outlook.

“You can see beautiful sunsets in the afternoon and you’re protected from the south-easterly winds.

“It’s one of those key positions. There’s only so many of them on the Sunshine Coast.”

The property listing stated that the street is “internationally renowned for showcasing the ultimate in deep waterfront living in the (Queensland) south-east corner”.

Mr Lund said waterfront homes in the area were attracting more attention.

“There’s some great properties coming on to the market,” he said. “And there’s some key properties starting to sell.”

“We had a bit of a lull for about 12 months where there wasn’t a lot of movement but it looks like buyers are definitely starting to come to the area, looking for prestige sales again.”

No.112 was designed by Trevor Reitsma and built by David Earl.

“It was one of Trevor’s first designs in early 2000,” Mr Lund said.

“And David has done some substantial builds in the area, along Mooloolah Drive and on the islands.”

He said the residence would likely be upgraded.

“It’s really well built but it’s a 22-year-old home so the owners will do some refurbishments.

“But they were after a key spot and that’s exactly what they got.”
