Sunshine Coast Child Protection Unit detectives have charged four boys after they were tracked in an allegedly stolen vehicle yesterday.
Police were alerted to a Land Rover Discovery travelling north on the Bruce Highway in the Caboolture area about 4.30pm.
It was tracked on the Sunshine Motorway, supported by Polair, until three boys exited the car at Lionel Donovan Drive, Noosaville, and were arrested.
Police continued to track the car as it travelled south on the Bruce Highway until it was intercepted using a tyre-deflation device on the Bruce Highway southbound lanes at Forest Glen.
The car continued to travel south towards Chevallum, where about 6pm the alleged driver of the vehicle, a teenage boy, exited the car and attempted to run away but was arrested by officers.
The Land Rover was allegedly stolen from the driveway of a Noosa Heads property in the early hours of yesterday.
A 17-year-old Margate boy has been charged with two counts of stealing and one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence, receiving tainted property, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence, and unlawful use of motor vehicle.
He has been refused police bail and was due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
A 12-year-old boy, 16-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy have all been charged with one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle and have been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
