Sunday, June 11, 3.15pm: A person was taken by rescue helicopter to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, following a motorcycle crash on Amamoor Creek Road at Amamoor at 12.32pm.
Sunday, June 11, 6am: A man in his 60s has died following a fatal marine incident in Mooloolaba overnight.
Initial investigations indicate a boat struck a pylon near a bridge on Brisbane Road around 12.25am.
The man, who was the sole occupant of the vessel, sustained critical injuries and was later declared deceased at the scene.
Water police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Friday, June 9, 6am: A teenage girl was airlifted to hospital, by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew, after she came close to drowning yesterday afternoon.
It’s believed she had been swimming with a group of friends, at a beach off Freshwater Road at Cooloola, when the incident occurred.Her friends were reportedly able to help her back to shore, before emergency services arrived.
The rescue chopper crew was called to assist, just after 4.30pm.
The pilot landed the aircraft on the beach, where the aeromedical crew met with local paramedics to treat her.
She was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, under the supervision of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor.Thursday, June 8, 7.25pm: Coolum Police are reminding residents to ensure their vehicles are locked and secured, preferably in a locked garage when possible, following recent break-ins to vehicles.
In some of the incidents, the vehicles had been left unlocked outside the premises, becoming easy targets for opportunistic offences.
Coolum Police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Hardy Wirth suggested some security tips to help avoid thefts or break-ins.
“It is best if vehicles are left locked in a secure garage with remotes removed from the vehicle and instead stored in a secure, non-visible place inside your dwelling,” he said.
“This makes it more difficult for opportunistic thieves to steal or break into your vehicles.
“We ask residents to be more vigilant and to remove all valuables from the vehicle”.
Thursday, June 8, 6.40pm: Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service rangers are monitoring a near-shore landslide near Inskip Point that occurred today.
The area of the latest landslide is near a barge landing area and not near camping areas. QPWS has no plans to close camping areas in the Inskip region.
Visitors are advised to stay away from the landslip area.
Landslips are common in the Inskip area. Following a previous landslip event at Inskip, QPWS engaged a geotechnical engineer to study the area and provide safety advice.
QPWS implemented the safety recommendations, which included the use of fencing and restricting camping within a certain areas identified as high risk.

Thursday, June 8, 12.15pm: The International Etchells Australasian Championship will be contested at Mooloolaba from Friday to Sunday.
World champions and well-known sailors, including Australia II skipper John Bertrand , who is also the national champion, and Martin Hill have brought their teams from Victoria and Sydney respectively.
The competition will be fierce in the one design, or identical, Etchells class, where success is based purely on the skill of the sailors, team work, and consistency during the eight-race series in a range of conditions.
The class is building up to two world championships in Australia next year.

Wednesday, June 7, 8.30am: Police are investigating a robbery and wounding of a 50-year-old man in Maroochydore yesterday afternoon.
Initial investigations indicate a group of men attended an address on School Road shortly before 5pm.
The male resident and the group, who are known to each other, were involved in an altercation, when the man was assaulted and sustained a stab wound to the leg.
The group proceeded to steal a number of personal items from the residence, before leaving the scene in an unknown vehicle.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A crime scene was declared and investigations are continuing.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Wednesday, June 7, 7.45am: Three males in their late teens were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in stable conditions, following a single-vehicle rollover on Old Caloundra Road at Landsborough at 9.19pm last night. One of them had suffered an arm injury and suspected pelvis injury, another a lower leg injury and the other had minor injuries.
Tuesday, June 6, 4.35pm: Police are appealing for public assistance in relation to a number of stealing offences on the Sunshine Coast and Moreton areas between February and June this year.
Shortly before 11.30pm on May 25, a black Holden Barina attended a service station along Steve Irwin Way in Glenview where the driver refuelled. The car then left the service station without the driver paying.
The same car, bearing a series of false number plates, is believed to have been involved in more than 20 similar incidents around the Sunshine Coast and Moreton areas.
The car is described as black with a red roof, and may have been painted red in earlier incidents.
Police have released vision of a man who may be able to assist with investigations.

Monday, June 5, 12.15pm: A two-hectare section of Tuan Environment Reserve, near Kenilworth, will undergo a planned burn on Tuesday and Wednesday, weather permitting, as part of Sunshine Coast Council’s Bushfire Management Program.
Smoke impacts to surrounding residents and road users are expected to be minimal. To reduce the impact on animals, a fauna corridor will be maintained for wildlife.
The aim of this burn is to reduce the volume of forest fuels, to maintain fire-adapted ecosystems and for cultural connection to country. The reserve will be closed during burn operations.
