In a live panel discussion set amongst the latest artworks from the Sunshine Coast Art Collection, join in for an insightful afternoon where you will unpack art collecting through the combined perspectives of artists, collectors, curators, advisors and philanthropists.

Rise Up for Children Sunshine Coast walk
Rise Up for Children is an awareness campaign initiated by Operation Underground Railroad. Their heart-based mission of increasing awareness, funding, and freeing children once and for all from trafficking has had huge support. This walk is an opportunity for anyone to come along and meet their local members and volunteers and find out more about how you can take action and raise awareness for children. The group will meet at Anzac Park before commencing the walk.

The 91 Storey Treehouse
A play by Richard Tulloch, adapted from the book by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton, Andy and Terry’s Treehouse has reached an amazing 91 Stories. It’s now more fantastically dangerous than ever, with a deserted desert island, a whirlpool, and a giant spider.
But Andy, Terry and Jill have no idea they’re about to face their biggest challenge yet. Mr Big Nose has sent his grandchildren to the Treehouse, and they don’t want to just sit quietly. Can Andy, Terry & Jill master this extreme babysitting challenge? This show is Recommended for ages 6-12 and their guardians.

Dicko’s Country Spit Roast
This supremely satisfying night out is a chance to embrace your inner Twang; think Classic Nashville hits meets Priscilla Queen of The Desert with a big dollop of Hey It’s Saturday mayhem thrown in for good measure. Hosted by Australia’s Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson, this show offers up only the very biggest hits from the very biggest names in Retro Country. Fungi, the foundation of life
Fungi are not a plant and are in fact more closely related to animals. Fungi are crucial to the healthy functioning of the rainforest ecosystem, decomposing forest material and returning nutrients to the soil. Join fungi guru Fran Guard for a walk-through Mary Cairncross Reserve. Fran has been interested in fungi for more than 15 years and loves them all but especially the tiny ones called Marasmius that decompose leaf litter. Fran’s walk will focus on the role of fungi in the rainforest and how they interact with everything else.

The Honey Sliders play Easy Rider.
The Honey Sliders are back at the and they’re bringing us the soundtrack to classic cult movie Easy Rider. You will see two sets of music from this great Brisbane band, played alongside footage from the legendary 1969 film. Featuring the music of Steppenwolf, Jimi Hendrix, The Byrds, The Band, Procol Harum and more, the Easy Rider soundtrack is easily the coolest collection of counter-culture rock ‘n’ roll the world has ever seen – and that’s before even mentioning the Harley Davison bikes, the leather jackets, the drugs, the vast open roads, and the enduring sense of freedom that this film still inspires.

Arms and The Man
The Lind presents the rarely produced sparkling comedy Arms and the Man by George Bernard Shaw (author of Pygmalion). The cast is a talented mix of Lind regulars and newcomers, directed by Joy Hinckley, who will bring this clever “anti-romcom” alive. Set and costume design by Anne Grant will make the production a visual treat. Dreamy heroine Raina is searching for a pure and romantic Higher Love, and has found it in her fiancé, the noble and dashing war hero Sergius. So, when Bluntschli, a tattered and not very dashing at all enemy soldier takes refuge in her bedroom after fleeing a battle, there’s no way he could ever compete for her affections or could he? Throw in some aspirational parents, and a pair of servants with their own agendas, and the stage is set for fun. Of course, it wouldn’t be Shaw without some sharp satire and social commentary thrown into the mix.
