The final touches are being put on a $32 million five-level hotel that is “desperately needed” in a burgeoning Sunshine Coast town.

The Bli Bli Hotel is expected to be completed in less than three months, paving the way for patrons to enjoy an array of services within the 2350sqm complex.

A spokesperson said the development was “progressing well”.

“It is now at the internal fit-out stage,” they said.

“Over the next month or so, we will see the scaffolding coming down as these internal works continue. This will also allow for the landscaping to take shape.

“We are anticipating that the project will be completed towards the end of October.”

The the hotel will boast a range of features.

“Patrons will enjoy a drive-through bottle shop (level one), a floor that is solely dedicated to a gaming area and lounge bar (level two) and a separate floor that will be dedicated to a variety of food and beverage offerings, a sports bar, dining area, kids’ room, rooftop bar area and a function room that will cater for up to 140 people (level four).”

Work is due to be finished within a few months.

There will also be 150 car spaces (level one and part of level two) and short-term accommodation (level five).

“Aside from the hotel, there is also commercial space and there are two tenancies that are currently available,” the spokesperson said.

Six of the complex’s tenancies were under contract in January, including a day spa, homewares store, juice and supplements bar, tobacconist and office space.

The development has been built into the slope of a hill.

“Level four is in line with Bli Bli-Nambour Road, which allows this development to complement the streetscape and enhance the surrounding area,” the spokesperson said, before adding that the hotel was highly desired in the growing riverside town, which includes the thriving Parklakes estate.

“Bli Bli has quickly become home to a large number of people who have built in the area due to idyllic lifestyle and proximity to the airport and Maroochydore,” they said.

“As a consequence, we know more than 30,000 vehicles transit through the immediate area daily.

“Additional services and a hotel are desperately needed in the area as there is a significant demand for them by the public, as can be seen on many of the local community pages on social media.

“Currently, there is no hotel offering in the area that provides guests living in the area or travelling to or from the airport to stop and enjoy a meal or a drink, and we anticipate this new hotel will be well patronised.

“Additionally, the opening of the hotel will see the creation of an additional 70 to 80 full-time jobs.”

The hotel will provides guests with new dining options.

The complex is a joint initiative of developers Roz and Michael White ($20 million investment) along with Scott Armstrong and Richard Deery of Sunshine Coast Hotels ($12 million investment).

Provisionally referred to as Bli Bli Tavern, the building was earlier this year named the Bli Bli Hotel.

It was hoped it would be built by last year, but Mr White said in January there was a delay “caused by labour shortages and building material availability” and it was instead expected to be completed by the end of June. Now, it’s set to be finished by the end of October.

The hotel was designed by Sprout Architects and is being constructed by Evans Built. It will be operated by Mr Armstrong and Mr Deery.

It will finish the development of the Bli Bli Village.

Stages one and two of the village include a multi-level commercial precinct with a wellbeing centre, healthcare services, eateries, retail and offices.
