Monday, August 21, 6.45am: A stable male patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Coronation Avenue, Nambour, at 12.20am.

Sunday, August 20, 1.45pm: A bushfire warning for Bellthorpe and Conondale was cancelled at 12:35pm. Fire conditions had eased. Crews were expected to continue to monitor the situation.

But a separate bushfire warning, to avoid smoke, was still in place for Kenilworth, Conondale, Bellthorpe and Maleny, with an Advice warning level.

Smoke was affecting those areas, from multiple fires burning in the Conondale area.

Sunday, August 20, 8.30am: A man in his 50s was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, with head and significant leg injuries following a vehicle and pedestrian incident on Oval Avenue at Caloundra at 6.33pm last night.

Saturday, August 19, 5.55pm: An updated bushfire warning was issued for Conondale at 2.13pm. People in the area were told to stay informed, with an advice warning level.

The warning area was for between Maleny Kenilworth Road, Grigor Road, Scrubby Creek Road and Jager Drive.

A fire was burning near Grigor Road Conondale. It was moving towards Maleny Kenilworth Road between Scrubby Creek and Jager Drive. ‎

Firefighting aircraft were helping ground crews. Major roads or highways could be impacted, including Grigor Road, Jager Drive and Scrubby Creek Road.

Residents in the area were advised to stay informed because conditions could change amd check the QFES Current Bushfires and Warnings website regularly.

Saturday, August 19, 10.20am: A stable patient was transported to Nambour Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Mapleton Road, Nambour, at 9.37am.

Saturday, August 19, 10.20am: An elderly male was transported in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a traffic crash involving six vehicles on the Bruce Highway southbound at Palmview at 9.02pm last night.

Friday, August 18, 6pm: The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal single-vehicle truck crash at West Woombye this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate about 12.45pm, a tip truck carrying earth-moving equipment was travelling south-east along Blackall Range Road near Shekinah Court when it left the road and crashed into a dam.

Upon arrival, emergency crews located the passenger, a 32-year-old North Lakes man, deceased at the scene.

The driver, a 27-year-old Deception Bay man, was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Witnesses or anyone with information or relevant vision is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.

Friday, August 18, 6pm: A male patient in a serious but stable condition was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a fall from an e-bicycle off David Low Way at Coolum Beach at 1.34pm.

Friday, August 18, 8.25am: A motorbike rider has been taken to hospital in a critical condition, following a crash at Buderim.

The rider, a man in his 20s, was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a crash with a vehicle on Bluebush Avenue and Wises Road at 7.30am.

The occupants of the vehicle – an adult and two children – declined transport to hospital.

Bonza will honour the Matildas’ success in the Women’s World Cup.

Thursday, August 17, 7.05am: They might not have beaten England in last night’s semi-final, but the Matildas won our hearts – so Bonza will name its fifth aircraft ‘Matilda’ in celebration of Australia’s success in the Women’s World Cup.

The airline so far has four aircraft named Shazza, Bazza, Sheila and Malc. The fifth plane, due to arrive next year after the Gold Coast base launch, will take pride of place in the Aussie skies with Matilda proudly painted on its side.

“Like the rest of the nation, our team of legends have been gripped by Matilda Mania thanks to their sportsmanship, mateship with one another and their pride in wearing the green and gold. As an airline that is solely focussed on Australia, it seemed fitting to name our next aircraft Matilda,” said chief commercial officer Carly Povey said.

“From all of us here at Bonza, congratulations and well done to the Matildas for what you’ve achieved on and off the pitch.”

Wednesday, August 16, 6.25am: Paramedics were called to Beerwah Street, Landsborough, just after 8pm last night after a female child sustained arm and leg injuries when she fell from an e-scooter. She was transported in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Sunday, August 13, 6.25pm: The Sunshine Coast Marathon has been run and won, by Jason Hunt (2hr28min57sec) among the men and Beth Mckenzie (2:39.54) amid the women. The half marathon, which doubled as the national championships, was won by Liam Adams (1:02.55) and Genevieve Gregson (1:10.18). More than 8000 participants were signed up to take part over multiple distances.
