Plans have been unveiled for a new district sports and recreation complex that is expected to cater for a range of pastimes.
Developer Stockland released renders for the 7.5-hectare Baringa Sports Complex, within the master-planned community Aura.
The precinct will feature two full-size Aussie rules grounds, eight tennis courts and four Hot Shots tennis courts designed for children.
It will be one of the largest sports precincts in Aura, alongside the Nirimba Sports Complex.
Civil works on the complex have begun, with construction set to be completed in the second half of this year.

Stockland Aura project director Josh Sondergeld said the precinct would add another active open space for Aura community members to enjoy.
“We are delighted to have this sports precinct underway, which will provide our residents with an impressive state-of-the-art facility catering to a wide range of sports and recreational activities,” he said via a Stockland media release.
“At Stockland, we take pride in creating communities that prioritise wellbeing and foster a strong sense of connection for residents and locals.
“Our latest annual liveability survey shows residents at Aura value being close to local parks and green spaces, so we look forward to officially opening Baringa Sports Complex later this year.”
The complex is expected to cost around $8 million and will be located on Farmers Crescent which is currently under construction in the Aura Business Park in Baringa.
The complex, which commenced construction in late 2023, adjoins the recently opened Bells Creek Arterial, providing easy access for residents from all suburbs of Aura.

Aura is Australia’s largest master-planned community and is currently home to more than 10,000 residents.
On completion, it will have more than 200km of walking paths and cycling veloways, connecting the community and encouraging residents to live active and healthy lifestyles.
It will also feature its own Central Park, a 120-hectare regional park, 10 sporting grounds as well as parks and playgrounds within 400m walking distance of every home, linking residential areas to local employment precincts, schools, the city centre and local neighbourhood retail centres.
