The Sunshine Coast has rapidly evolved as a sports and recreation hub during the past 10 to 15 years.
The region has welcomed new facilities and upgraded others, to accommodate a growing population and professional sports teams.
More venues are planned ahead of the 2032 Olympics, when the Coast is set to host a range of sports including basketball, football, mountain biking, marathon, road cycling and water sports.
To see how some of the region’s sports facilities have come of age, Sunshine Coast News has partnered with Australian location intelligence company Nearmap to bring readers a series of interactive photos.
Simply drag the slider across the photos to compare the facilities from January 25, 2010, to November 30, 2023.
