The first members of the new-look Sunshine Coast Council have been confirmed after the March 16 local government elections.

The results for Divisions 1, 2 and 3 have been declared by the Electoral Commission of Queensland, confirming Jenny Broderick, Terry Landsberg and Tim Burns respectively as councillors.

Ms Broderick, a mother of four with 20 years of experience as a business owner, will replace retiring councillor and deputy mayor Rick Baberowksi in Division 1, which covers Beerwah, Landsborough, Caloundra South and surrounds.

She claimed 11,341 votes (54.2 per cent), ahead of Kristy Taylor-Rose (7743 votes) and Stan Nawrocki (1836 votes).

“It is with much excitement and a humble heart that I can announce that I have been officially declared by the ECQ as your representative for Division 1 Sunshine Coast Council,” Ms Broderick posted to social media.

“We cannot deliver outcomes for our community in isolation and as your councillor I am committed to continuing to build and strengthen relationships across all our levels of government with a focus on ensuring Caloundra secures the support and investment needed now and into the future.”
