UPDATE: A teenage boy involved a severe crash on Tuesday is now in a stable condition at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

EARLIER: A teenage boy has been airlifted to hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition after a collision between a bicycle and motorcycle.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight rescue helicopter was tasked at 3.23pm and landed in a paddock near the incident in the Glass House Mountains.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor worked with Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics to stablise the teen, who was riding the bicycle.

He was treated for severe head injuries and flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The QAS reported that paramedics attended the scene on Cooinda Place at 3.09pm.

The motorbiker ride was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition and was on Wednesday in a stable condition.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the Forensic Crash Unit had been tasked into action.

“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are underway,” the spokesperson said.

“Witnesses or anyone with information, dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident is urged to contact police.”
