A Sunshine Coast surf lifesaving club is set to benefit from a newly installed power source.
Metropolitan Caloundra Surf Life Saving Club at Kings Beach has welcomed a 26.64kW solar energy system.
The system was delivered at no cost to the club, thanks to a community club grant and installer RESINC Solar Commercial’s in-kind donation of $20,425.
It is expected to save the club about $12,000 a year in electricity costs, which will allow more money to be directed to essential areas such as lifesaving equipment, volunteer training and community education programs.
The system is expected to eliminate about 37 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Metropolitan Caloundra SLSC CEO Ashley Robinson welcomed the installation.

“This project is a game-changer for us,” he said.
“The savings allow us to invest in what matters most: saving lives and strengthening our community.”
RESINC Solar Commercial general manager Bruce Manning said the installation would have multiple benefits.

“Partnering with the Metropolitan Caloundra Surf Life Club is more than just installing solar panels, it’s about supporting a community that contributes so much,” he said.
“This initiative not only helps reduce costs but also promotes a greener, more sustainable future.”
