A woman in her 70s has been injured while escaping a unit fire, which is under investigation.
The Queensland Ambulance Service stated that the woman suffered head and arm injuries when she fell during an evacuation of a three-storey building at Parklands Boulevard in Little Mountain about 7pm last night.
The woman was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
A woman in her 20s was also taken to SCUH, for smoke inhalation.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said five crews attended the blaze, which was in a second-storey unit.
Everyone in the building was evacuated and the fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.
The QFD spokesperson stated that the fire is under investigation.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said a crime scene was declared.
“Police are investigating a unit fire in Little Mountain,” they said.
“The fire was extinguished and the single occupant of the home was accounted for.
“A crime scene has been declared and investigations are ongoing.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact police.”
