A twice-a-week festival, which opened just six months ago, has been judged the Best Regional Live Music Venue in the state.

NightQuarter Sunshine Coast claimed the accolade from the Queensland Music Awards in Brisbane.

The nominees included two other Sunshine Coast venues (Solbar and the Events Centre) and regional venues from around Queensland.

NightQuarter essentially relocated from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast in November.

It has hosted acts like Ocean Alley, Vera Blue, the Jungle Giants and James Reyne, as well as a host of Sunshine Coast artists.

The Birtinya venue has five stages across the precinct. The main stage area is a touring level space purpose built with shipping containers, a dome hangar and a second balcony level.

Other stages host emerging acts, local bands and soloists every weekend.
