Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya

This interpretation of Uncle Vanya seeks to invite the audience into a stripped-down world, where the characters and their histories merge with their current states and subtexts. Director Mathieu Cadart explores what lies beneath difficult relationships and hard times by means of surrealism and abstraction to investigate an expand on the ‘ties that bind’. Using the ‘psycho-physical’ approach to the performances, Cadart invites the audience to see and feel what Chekhov’s characters experience.
