A Sunshine Coast newsagent’s $1.5million wish on a rainbow has come true for one lucky customer – but who they are remains a mystery.

The hunt is on for the winner who has won the elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

The Lott is urging anyone who bought a Saturday Gold lotto entry from Nambour Village News to check their tickets, because someone is holding one worth a cool $1,538,461.54.

It was one of 13 division 1 winning entries nationwide in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw 4307, drawn on October 29.

Nambour Village News manager Danielle Parkinson was hoping to sell a division one ticket from the $160million Powerball draw last week, but her dream didn’t come true.

Nambour Village Newsagency manager Danielle Parkinson has the Champagne chilling after selling a Division 1 winning ticket from Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw.

However, Ms Parkinson’s wish on the breathtaking rainbow from last Thursday’s storm, which seemed to shine directly down on her newsagency, did come true for one of her customers.

“I made a wish … that I sell division 1 in the Superdraw Saturday Gold Lotto to make up for the $160million Powerball,” Ms Parkinson said.

“My wish certainly came true.

“I would like to congratulate the winner and thank them for shopping local and buying the winning ticket from my newsagent.”

And it’s not the first time selling a significant prize for this newsagency.

Ms Parkinson also sold a winning ticket worth $2million a year ago. And there was a division 1 winning Golden Casket Syndicate when the newsagent first opened.

She said receiving the text about the Saturday Gold Lotto Division 1 winner early this morning was the “most exciting news”.

“The champagne has been on ice for a while,” she said.

“My loyal customers are thrilled, it’s such a fantastic, good news story for this beautiful town of ours.”
