The Hobbit A Musical adventure (Nov 6)
Bilbo Baggins the Hobbit is about to embark on the adventure of his lifetime, recruited by Gandalf the Wizard to join the company of Thorin Oakenshield. They set off to reclaim the Dwarves’ lost city of Erabor. Along the way, Bilbo will encounter giant spiders, wood elves and goblins, and travel far from his comfortable and predictable life in the shire. Showing at Maleny Community Centre, this musical – performed by homeschooled students of the Sunshine Coast – has original music by Australian composer Judith Clingan and is directed by Lavina Wagner.

Coastal Caring Clowns Milestone (Nov 6)
Coastal Caring Clowns Inc is celebrating its 21st birthday and you can join in an afternoon filled with music, fun and silly clown antics at The Events Centre, Caloundra. Making the afternoon even more special will be the MC, Channel 7 presenter Rosanna Natoli. The clowns will be joined on stage by Buderim Calisthenics and Buderim Concert Band.

Spice up your Asian cooking (Nov 5)
Head to Red Hot Chilli Pepper Caloundra to spend a fun morning while learning about various cuisines from around the world. This class in particular looks at herbs and spices used in Asian cooking. The flavour is all about the spice. The classes are hands on and you cook in pairs. Bring a friend with you or meet a new friend to cook with on the day. Then, sit down and relax over lunch, eating the delicious dishes that you have prepared and cooked throughout the morning instruction.

Three health professionals speaking on men’s Pipes, Duco and Engines (prostate, skin and muscles) just might help you live longer. Head along to the Buderim Men’s Shed for this free event for males interested in their health (and those interested in their males). This information night may fill gaps in knowledge and be a catalyst for action.

Big on laughs (Nov 10-13)
Get ready for the funniest week of the year! The Sunshine Coast Comedy Festival is back for a bigger and better-than-ever comedy bender. Foreshore festival fun (Nov 5)
Experience Mooloolaba’s exciting new Northern Parkland for yourself. To celebrate this new space, the community is invited to the vibrant and free Mooloolaba Foreshore Festival inspired by all things in, on and under the sea. Meet a mermaid, spot incredible sand sculptures, soak up live music or wander the sunset markets. There will be workshops, food stalls, free rides, face painting, and activities for all ages to enjoy. Free event, no registration necessary.
Quirky Annual Salmon Awards (Nov 6)
Haters presents the quirky Salmon Awards at Moffat Beach. This is a celebration of “people who treat other people nice”, featuring songs from Hayden Wisman, Dartanyon, Ballpoint, Ed Barnes and Nicole Gandy, Betty Taylor and Haters. Plus, a ton of great art and photography will be on display and for sale. Fishing experience isn’t required, but this is a catch-and release only event. Feel free to BYO and a small bar selection also will be available to ticket holders. All proceeds will go to the Lantana Space arts organisation.
