Plans have been finalised for villas and attractions at a major waterpark development on the Sunshine Coast.

Invigorate Resort will offer a 4-Star integrated facility, with more than 160 fully self-contained family-friendly villas as part of the first stage of the 25ha Actventure Water Park, in Glenview.

The resort will incorporate a range of accommodation types, ranging from 20sqm to 100sqm, with a mix of luxury one and two-bedroom eco villas and one, two, three and four-bedroom luxury villas that will be self contained with outdoor decking, as part of the multi-million dollar lifestyle, tourism and water park.

The resort will feature a range of unique facilities and amenities, including tennis and basketball courts, lap pool, swimming pool, kayak and stand-up paddle board hire, outdoor movie theatre, and skateboarding, iPad arcade, as well as child minding facilities.

“Essentially, it’s a complete destination for the whole family,” sponsor and experienced developer and Sanad Managing Director Bradley Sutherland said.

The complex will also include a major, state-of-the-art water park, new retail and some well-known restaurant facilities, with a new microbrewery and event conference facilities.

Council has assisted with early works, site clearing has been completed and a two-bedroom display villa has been constructed on site.

“We’ve already had a lot of interest from the community without an official launch, so we thought this was a great time, just before Christmas, to release the designs of all the villa types and offerings and create an official expressions of interest campaign,” Mr Sutherland said.

“From self or virtual checking into the resort, booking a villa, guests will have immediate access into the water park fast tracked … we’re combining all these elements together, to create a destination offering for the public and Sunshine Coast locals”

Detailed design work is underway, expected to be completed ready for major works to start in April/May.

As reported by Sunshine Coast News previously, the project will be the Sunshine Coast’s first new major themed attraction in more than three decades– with the history of Aussie World and SEA LIFE dating back to 1989, the Big Kart Track to 1983 and Australia Zoo to 1970 when it was the Beerwah Reptile and Fauna Park.

The designs for numerous cutting edge water slides have been finalised, including a splash/spray pad for toddlers, kids zone slides for young children, and large slides for adults.

“The overall project encapsulates the 160-villa family resort called Invigorate, water park (Actventure) and cutting-edge Surf Pool from PerfectSwell,” Mr Sutherland said.

Planning is underway to finalise the state road and water flow designs with the Department of Main Roads and Transport and Unitywater.

“Everyone playing ball, we’re progressing daily, we’re working harder now in the background on detailed design,” Mr Sutherland said.

“We’d like to think the first part that we’re building – which is the family resort, the water park, the car parks, the integrated retail – we think that’d be a $120m to $130m exercise.”
