A luxury waterfront building in the heart of the Sunshine Coast has claimed a coveted national design award.

Botanica Riverside won the Multi-Residential Building (more than three storeys) gong at the Building Designers Association of Australia awards.

Developed by Kennedy Property Group, designed by BRD Group and built by Nexus Building Group, the development includes large format residential living, with 16 apartments spanning 320m2 each, and only two units per level.

The building represents luxury waterfront living with a focus on spacious design, subtle colour palettes and natural ventilation, accompanied by landscaping by Jack Merlo.

With stunning ocean and river views, residents were also spoilt with a recreation pavilion complemented by a 20m pool.

The development offers style and substance.

Grant Kennedy of Kennedy Property Group said the apartments were highly sought-after.

“The off-the-plan product was quickly snapped up and we could have sold the development several times over given the level of demand we experienced,” he said.

“The five‐star hotel vibes, the convenient location and the attention to detail with high‐end finishes make Botanica Riverside as unique as it is impressive”.

The award was contested by large developers and metro design companies.

Mr Kennedy believed the building demonstrated that new developments in key locations could provide additional housing, without overpopulation or detrimental impacts on the Sunshine Coast.

The crisp interior and stunning views.

Botanica Riverside is home to predominantly local buyers at retirement age, seeking to downsize but not willing to compromise on lifestyle or location.

Kennedy Property Group has been established for over 20 years and has delivered landmark residential and commercial projects throughout South-East Queensland.

Mr Kennedy, who grew up in Buddina and was a lifetime Sunshine Coast resident, was honoured to lead the team.

BRD Group, established in 2000, is a progressive and innovative building and interior design business servicing both public and private sectors.

It has delivered award‐winning projects across multiple sectors.
