Offbeat music festival
Tickets for the third annual Offbeat Music Festival in Eumundi are on sale with a line-up that brings some of Australia’s top acts to Eumundi for the first time ever and confirms that live music is back, better than ever. The festival line-up boasts Thelma Plum, King Stingray, Gretta Ray, Electric Fields, Clews, Queen P, Clea, Moreton, Blues Arcadia, Greatest Hits, Eastbound Buzz, Playlunch, Tommy Gun, DJ Roleplay and the Gubbi Gubbi Dancers. Described as a house-party-in-a-pub, and with limited tickets available, this is one boutique festival you do not want to miss.

What’s killing our trees?
Come along to this important public discussion on fungal threats impacting our rainforests. The precious fragments of the rainforests of Jinibara Country in Maleny (such as Mary Cairncross) are facing many threats. You may have noticed dying Bunya trees across the Sunshine Coast hinterland and beyond. Diseases such as ‘dieback’ from fungal species are impacting these trees and others. Learn more about these threats, and how we can help prevent disease spread and assist with the survival of our amazing biodiversity and culturally significant ecology.

Holy Ship
This is an action-packed musical comedy set on board a cruise liner. Returning in 2023, Your Local Disability Expo keeps local participants connected with local providers. Meet support services, allied health professionals, living option specialists, day program providers and more. By registering for this event you will receive a door bag on entry and you can support Bravery Buddies, a Sunshine Coast local charity, supporting children impacted by cancer. All who receive a door bag on entry will go into the draw to win a $150 voucher to skill based social sessions hosted by SMART care community support.

Montville Starry Nights
Montville State School P&C is excited to host its annual Starry Night movie community event. Following on from the success of last year’s event, this year it will be featuring the smash hit musical The Greatest Showman. The event will have Montville Gourmet Pizza available for via pre-order purchase as well as a selection of concession stand snacks. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and food. Alcohol will be available for purchase for those over 18 years of age. Strictly no BYO alcohol. This is an inclusive community event and will have a sensory space and quiet games set up for those who need to be up and about during the movie.

Hard Quiz Live
The Hard Quiz master, overlord and Gold Logie award winner Tom Gleeson is taking the Big Brass Mug out for a spin, swapping the studio for a theatre and adding a third dimension to Australia’s hardest quiz. This will be Hard Quiz like you have never seen it, with audience members pulled on stage for a live roasting from the most brutal quizmaster since the inquisition. When Tom isn’t flaying contestants for your enjoyment he is also one of Australia’s funniest and most successful stand-up comedians who commands a theatre like no-one else.

Ex-AFL star shares resilience tips
The Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to host more than 70 members of the Sunshine Coast business community, for a raw and brutally honest after-work event with former AFL premiership player and current Lifeline ambassador Tom Boyd (pictured). The True Meaning of Resilience event, on the rooftop of the new A1 building, in the Maroochydore CBD, will shine a light on mental health and mental resilience, an often overlooked topic particularly among the male demographic.

Ode to Mozart
Acclaimed Sunshine Coast ensemble Oriana Choir will present its first concert for 2023, Oriana Sings Mozart Vespers and the Music of Ola Gjeilo, on April 23 at Maleny Community Centre and April 30 at Stella Maris School, Maroochydore. The choir will be conducted by Kim Kirkman and accompanied by Oriana artistic director Fay Baker and a string quartet. This concert series will be dedicated in memory of late Oriana member Alan Mackay-Sim, the 2017 Australian of the Year.
